! Commissions Open Bills Due Explained !
3 years agoHey y'all so i just wanted to briefly go over my situation with work atm.
Let me start with the fact that I have 9 years of work experience collectively between retail. retail management and food service. I have a high school education and I went to college.
For a multitude of personal and health reasons, I quit my full-time retail manager position back in November. I have since been providing for myself by being an U/ber driver and doing art commissions, which paid the bills, but just barely.
Since quitting my job in November, I have been applying consistently to positions both remote (work from home) and in person. I have applied to approximately 150+ jobs in 7 months and have gotten only 6 callbacks. In 7 months. I have refined and redone my resume, I have gone into places asking about positions I saw open, only for them to tell me they aren't hiring or to apply online (which I have already done multiple times). I have gotten interviews where on the morning of, when I've already spent time prepping and preparing for this specific company and position, they call to cancel at the last minute because they are "no longer in need of this position." Needless to say, it's been very frustrating and hard for my family.
Recently, as we all know, gas prices have sky rocketed. With gas prices rising almost $2-$3 a gallon from what it was before, U/bering is no longer a feasible option for me, since I would be spending more on gas than I would be making. On a good day, it might cover my gas expenses, but since the holidays, I've been lucky if I make more than I spent on gas driving around waiting for orders (usually around $10 or less for a trip 30+ min) So I am now solely providing for my family with my art commissions and small jobs I can get here and there.
I just made a post about my commissions being open, I have about half of what I need to pay the bills at the end of this month. Any help at all is super appreciated, even if all you can do it RT and support <3 The link in my bio has all the places you can find me and also my kofi!
