The Bunny and the Fox Pups Part 1
It's three in the morning and Judith, helplessly wandering around her house looking for anything new to clean that she hasn't already cleaned three times before, has been waiting for this for eight months, why was she so nervous?
Judith received the call she had been waiting for, to tell her that they had foster placements ready for her. As a single 23 year old woman who had busted her fluff, graduated school early, gotten into a good place as a manager at her fathers company until she finishes her bachelors degree in social services, and had bought her own home, decided she wasn't doing enough to help in the world. So she decided to become a foster parent. What she didn't expect, that put an uncomfortably painful knot in her stomach being a bunny, was that her first placement would be a set of twins. Fox twins. Knowing she could have said no and waited for a new placement, she decided that she would not be a part of her families racial stereotypes. So she told her caseworker, Rhonda, to bring them. That was an hour ago, and just as Judith started to clean the kitchen counter for the fourth time, she saw the headlights pull into the driveway.
'Perfect timing' she thought as the oven timer dinged. She pulled out the pan of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, filling the house with the smell of heaven. She quickly slid the cookies onto a platter and set them on the dining room table as Rhonda knocked on the door. She could hear the faint whimper from a crying child from the other side. Judith swallowed her nerves, straightened her ears, and opened the door, and every bad thought she had disappeared when she saw the two small, terrified children hiding behind the leopards legs.
"Vance, Nigel, this is Judith. It's alright boys you can trust her, this is where you're going to be staying for awhile." Rhonda tried to reassure them. The older one, maybe six years old, stepped forward to Judith with tears quietly streaming down his fur. Judith kneeled down and took the little boy in her arms, who was quickly followed by the younger brother, who was around three. She stood up with them wrapped in her arms and walked into the dining room and sat them down at the table.
"Here you go boys, do either of you want milk?" both boys nodded, and Judith quickly got their drinks and cookies for them. "I'm going to go talk to Miss. Rhonda for a few minutes. If you need anything just call."
