In the cold outer rim of the Ethereum galaxy, obscured by the crimson dust of an old stellar graveyard, the dim glow of a small blue star materializes from the endless dark; a handful of rocky worlds trailing behind in silence. Two among these ancient stellar bodies shone like emeralds in contrast to the blood red nebula behind them; a lush temperate world, and its large forest moon. Dark and humid worlds, with vast freshwater oceans, and trees that touch the clouds, a landscape eclipsed by eternal twilight, shrouded in mist, and bathed in deadly radiation. Korrin. The lost ancestral home world of the Krii.

What are the Krii? (A Summary)
Hello, and welcome!
I am Draggah, a worldbuilder, writer, and artist; I have been working on a new species for the last decade or so in the hope of creating something unique which you all can enjoy, no pay wall required. All I want is to see others enjoying my creation, therefore, my only request is that if you make a Krii; give me a heads up so I can be excited too! (And so I can give you a follow; that way we all can get a little Krii community going!)
Anyway, since my main worldbuilding project "Encyclopedia Korrinthia" is getting close to 80k words long, and can take about 5 hours to read; I decided to create a synopsis of the available information which can be read and digested in under 5 minutes.
So, here is the Encyclopedia Korrinthia in brevity:
The Korrinthian peoples, or “Krii” for short; are a diverse race of medium-sized felid-humanoids whom hail from irradiated temperate worlds which would look quite similar to earth; if the endemic life were to be viewed from the perspective of an ant…
Theirs is an ecosystem of giants, where despite being roughly human-sized themselves; the dominant species would not register as much more than an insect in comparison to most of the plants and animals which evolved there.
They build their homes and communities upon and within the gigantic, hollow bastion-trees which often grow taller than skyscrapers. Perched upon the branches and hidden within the trunks; their communities thrive high above the myriad of deadly megafauna which occupy the ground, and are shielded from the monstrous birds and plane-sized bats by a thick web of sturdy vines which span the canopy like an endless Gordian-knot.
Due to the inherently hostile nature of their environment; Korrinthian culture developed a naturally socialist structure in order to thrive; individuals care deeply for the wellbeing of their entire community and often place the good of their clan before personal desires in the majority of instances. And as a result of their communal nature; these beings are unsurprisingly, quite gregarious, they share everything as if it were second nature; meals, resources, tools, even sleeping and bathing are shared openly and participated in as a group, without a single dissonant thought of reservation.
It is also important to note that females of this species outnumber the males on a ten to one ratio, and thus, the Krii evolved as a matriarchal society. With males never existing as the dominant sex; they took on more domestic roles for the purpose of genetic security; tending to the upkeep and caregiving of the clan as a whole, while the females venture out to provide.
Thanks to the collective driving force of their fiercely communal society; the advancement of science and the development of new technologies progressed relatively unabated.
In the time which the Krii dwelled in their home system, they built a great many wondrous things; they mastered terraforming after almost destroying their own ecosystem, they took to the heavens and built thriving cities upon the other planets in their native star-system, and brought machines to life through the advent of artificial intelligence.
And though evicted from their homeworld by the inescapable maw of a black hole, they managed to survive extinction despite all odds through their technological prowess and deterministic ingenuity; even managing to save the blueprints of their bizarre biosphere in the process.
These days, the Krii enjoy a privileged, cooperative existence amidst a myriad of intelligent alien life; and have reconstituted their native ecosystems across a generous handful of worlds.
Their society now exists in a balanced duality, with many citizens still enjoying the simple, arboreal traditions of their honored ancestors on the surfaces of their lush, terraformed worlds, while more still continue to navigate the stars alongside their fungi-form, symbiotic counterparts “The Psyben”. Ever migrating between systems, endlessly searching for relics of the galaxy’s forgotten past, and seeking out the secrets of the universe aboard their colossal vivarium-class starships.
Theirs, is a society steeped in ritual and tradition, unshakably following an ancient religion which venerates scientific progress and technological achievement; and who were, until recently, guided by a pantheon of artificial super-intelligences which they revered not unlike deities. To the Krii; all things which move or perform a function are not unlike machines, gifted with purpose by an enigmatic supreme-being known as the Mechanismus, who grants the spirit of life to all which turns the Invisible gears of reality, be it organism, or machine.
Such is their adoration to all that is mechanical; that it has become as sacrament to upgrade one’s own physical form to be, at-least in part, machine. Most have upgraded their senses with augmented reality; installing cybernetic hardware into their eyes, ears, and even into their brains, as to better connect with the technologically advanced lifestyle which they have wrapped themselves in over the many millennia of their storied existence.
They regularly commune with their machines as if they were truly alive, even going so far as to give them names and refer to them as siblings; and can frequently be spotted lighting candles and burning incense at their maintenance stations like sacred alters, as well as painting hierograms upon their chassis each day to celebrate their contraptions many contributions to their society.
And it is not merely theirs and their own which they honor; all beings, great or small, are deserving of reverence through Korrinthian eyes. They celebrate the diversity of xeno cultures, and would go to extreme lengths to protect their alien allies; even constructing an automated defense fleet which patrols the space-ways to secure the borders of interstellar sovereignty.
And though the other denizens of the galaxy are not so keen on the thought of an AI designed for warfare “protecting” them from the darkness of space; most find the adoring nature of their Korrinthian neighbors hard to disagree with, making the Krii one of the most common of interstellar tourists and researchers to come across in the Ethereum galaxy.
I hope this helps! ^.^
By the way: I can be found on Reddit too along with snippets of lore and other posts regarding the Krii (and some other stuff.) My username there is also "The_Krii"
