Welcome to The Species Dex!



A closed species is defined as a species that is allowed only to be made and reproduced by its original creator. 

this group was created after the  OpenSpecies and  closedspecies became inactive

Our Goal



This is a group dedicated to archiving every species that have been created in one place and the amazing artists behind them. 



We want to help everyone who's interested in creating their own unique species by allowing them to easily see what's already been done, so that there are not two species of similar origin, background, abilities, and appearance.



We want to help artists advertise and get their species more exposure! 



We want to help connect fans to their favorite species and the talented artists behind them.

What We Do



We favorite closed species ref images and adopts by the original artist. 

That is our primary index. Look there first.



We add the name of the favorited species to our journal index for easy access and browsing.



We upload species refs and finished works for those who wish to get their species more exposure.

Submissions will only be accepted by original artists who created the species.

How To Join



If you are an artist of a species, or a supportive fan of closed species all you have to do is:



1.) Hit the +Watch button. 



2.) Put this group's icon on your page.



Icon can be displayed like so:

To Advertise A Species



Adding:

If you have a species that you created and would like to add to the directory on this page, then please send a note titled "New Closed Species" with the name and image link of the species and it shall be uploaded to the gallery with credit to you and a link to the original image. 



Removing:

If you want to remove your species from the list, please send a note with the title "Remove Species," and the name of the species, along with an image link of it and it will be removed.



Note: We encourage using watermarks to keep your art safe.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Do not worry about art skill, or how developed your species is when adding it to this group. We want any and all closed species, no matter how serious or silly they may be.



Also, FA members are the only ones allowed to see this page, as guests have been blocked. I hope that is satisfactory to everyone. We want to keep all art posted here as safe as we can.

1. Please be aware that any and all species listed are not to be recreated, duplicated, or redistributed by anyone, without the explicit permission of artist(s) who originally created that species.



2. Not all closed species may be available as adoptables. Check with the artist of the species you're interested in.



3. Please do not bash any species design, or say they look like said other species.



4. Please ask the original creator before making a fursuit of any of these species.
