So, big changes coming to this account soon!

So, recently on Bluesky I saw a thread where folks were sort of flaunting their Furaffinity join dates and it made me think, I feel kinda' like I don't have a lot to show how long I've been around... Then I remembered, I have two abandoned accounts with much earlier join dates. So I set out to speak to some FA staff, to see if I could recover either or both.

Initially, the big "get" would have been my original FA account, which I registered in 2009 and abandoned (changing the password to an un-guessable string of nonsense characters) in 2011 over an argument. Seems like a pretty immature reason to wipe your online presence right? Well... Unfortunately, that was me acting my age. For those of you following along at home, you may have done the math and realized, I was not technically old enough to be on Furaffinity in 2009... So because I was a teenage moron I put a fake birth date on the account and had no way of proving to FA staff that the account was mine.

So, I set about trying to get into my old email account... Which was registered with Yahoo. Apparently Yahoo does this thing where if an email account sits dormant for a period of ~2 years, they de-activate the account, give you 30 days to sign back in, and if you miss that window the account and everything in it is gone for good. I have heard that some people are able to just re-create the account if it's been abandoned for long enough but unfortunately I had no such luck... Maybe some day Yahoo will purge their list of old emails and I can re-create my old Yahoo mail account and finally re-gain access but until then I've just gotta' accept that the '09 account is gone gone.

I WAS able to recover my second Furaffinity account, which I registered in 2012. It doesn't feel AS impressive as a 2009 join date, but I did use my real birth date on that one so I WAS able to recover it.

SO with that being said, here's the plan. This account,  Brio Blubfeesh , is going to be changed into the account where I upload art I've commissioned from other artists. My current gallery will be staying, but will be moved into scraps.

The recovered account with the 2012 join date,  TortleOfWar , will become my new main account where I'll upload my personally created artwork and sketches going forward.

I'm really sad I couldn't get back into my original '09 account because the join date is so much closer to that of most of my friends, who almost all joined in the mid to late 2000s. Still, 2012 does feel a little more established than 2016 does.

I'm not sure when exactly I'm gonna' put these changes into motion, but just giving everyone a heads-up. Big hugs, y'all!
