I feel like every time I make one of these, I'm apologizzing for my inactivity here. And this one is not going to be any different. It's been like two years since my previous journal, and a lot has gone on since then. I'll put a TLDR at the bottom, but until then, I'd like to talk about how things have been with me in a little more detail.

These last two years have simultaneously been some of the best and most stressful of my life. I don't think I need to go into detail about how the world feels like it's been burning down, if you're in the US, you know that already, so I'd rather talk about some of the positives. I stumbled into the Korps about a year and a half ago. It's not really a surprise that stories about queer empowerment and smashing fascists grabbed me so tightly. What might be though, is the setting and the people within it have inspired me to write a novel. It's something I've tried once or twice before, but I always lost steam on them before I finished. With Unraveling, that is not the case.

If yall keep up with me on bluesky, you know that I've got this story drafted out (about 130k words at the time of writing this) and I'm in the process of cleaning it up. It has been nothing short of a joy to write. It has brought me in touch with so many wonderful and beautiful creatures, and it's on its way to becoming a full series of stories at this point. It's the best writing I've ever done, and I'm motivated to see just how far I can take it. And it's just been extremely fulfilling to write a story I wish Young Vic had. I'll start posting it here once I get it finalized, I think, but it might be a bit before that happens.

I've also made it to Australia to visit some of the most important people in my life. The flight was a slog, packing and preparing for it was the most stressful thing I've done in my entire life, but it was all worth it to meet the love of my life at the airport. I've just about recovered from jet lag, and I'm very much looking forward to this break. There's a lot we want to do and see here, but I'm also looking forward to having more time to write and edit.

Which also means I'll have more time to work on my backlog and get it posted here. There are a couple stories from the last pokemon art pack I need to put up here, and a few other stand alones that deserve to see more than just the inside of my desk. I hope yall enjoy them when I eventually get them out <3
