This had been floating in my head for a while, instead of Final Fantasy XIV having the same race from FF11 but change the names, but what if there was a story where during the Fifth or Sixth Calamity where the human races and beast tribes were at war. In this, the beast tribe would win the war being the Age of the Beast where Hyurs being completely extincted, only in pages of history.

What would be Hyurs would be replaced by Elezens with the Miqo'te, Au Ra, Viera and Hrothgar still being the same. The others however will be replaced by the beast tribes: The two kinds of Roegadyn will be replaced by the Amalj'aa for the Sea Wolves or Desert Wolves with them being mostly in Ul'Dah and Vanu Vanu with the Hellsguard being high above the clouds. What the Elezen would have would be replaced by the Ixal matching the same location of the most the Wildwood elezen in Gridania and early Ishgard with the Sahagin replacing the Duskwight with them training to live between the land and water. And finally, the Lalafells would be replaced with the Qiqirn which their union with the past lalafells resulting it them having fewer litter to have longer lifespans like lalafells would have with the bonus race of the mysterious Nu Mou replacing the Plainsfolks.

The primals were the tricky part since the tribes taint others to summon them, how about the dark avatars that taint people would be dark avatars of the Ascians' will and the light avatars serve as guardians of the towns being Ifrit, Ramuh, Leviathan, Garuda, etc. What exactly does this mean with the Scions and other people? I have to think more of that answer.
