Back with some more Melbourne Shots. Looking back through them, I'm starting to notice ways to improve my shots; some of the cropping and orientation is just -slightly- off, along with my focussing. Most of the time, I stick with manual focus as well as exposure to achieve the detail and focal plane I desire, but I realised I've been using my right eye through the viewfinder, which is growing progressively weaker and I forgot to compensate for this. Consequently, I've had to tidy up the slight blurring with some unsharp mask. Next time, I'll properly configure the focus on the viewfinder. A simple mistake to make...like the time I left the date stamp on my old MZ50 for a roll of film...

This shot has poor orientation and framing, but it was taken quite briskly on a busy sidewalk, so I guess some allowances must be made. I'm not quite so fond of the shot itself, but what the building itself represents. I was quite taken with the idea of an internal garden; an artist's garden inside, contained, even trapped inside a building. Artistry within borders, unable to escape the physical borders it was created in. And that same building only offers two tiny glimpses into the setting; the mind and story behind it.

I find it an odd and appealing combination; the idea of personal art; displayed and trumpeted publicly, but kept mostly secret.
