One of my (many) original races that I'm creating within my stories that revolves with the Kingdom of Icura~
"The Vivens Crystallo ( Latin "Living Crystal") is one of the oldest race even predating before Humans and even Dragons, they're the ancient scholars of Time and the true understanding of energy flow within the world, and are known to be the race that helped out the human first round with giving them the teachings that would rival most technology today, thus good possibility that they helped form land of Atlantis.
Their understanding of crystal energy revolutionized how most technological things worked within those societies thus they mimicked how the energy is flowed from the crystal to power their stuff, like a circuit board for say and the Vivens Crystallos gladly helped experiment with that idea and concept for more of a effective way to transfer the power through the contraption or so from the crystal 'battery'."
But that was more or less to give you an example of what I had in mind for this race via basic history and how they worked out within Human Society. More will come of this race soon~
And yes like the name implies this race has a armor like deal going on with those parts looking like crystals, actual ones too though a bit special in that they contain a lot of energy and sometimes when they 'shed' those crystals do still have energy locked within them so most Alchemic and Sorceric Societies use them to benefit themselves with their work.
Just used GIMP to touch up the depth of the lines and add that old sketch book paper feel to it~
