It’s not that I -HATE- firearms, I mean I’d really like to fire some guns like a Colt Python or a Pump-Action Shotgun for example, I just don’t think it’s very intelligent to give every nutjob out there access to firearms and let them purchase and own them, let alone carry them around like in some states.
Though, I guess I really wouldn’t mind if firearms all around the world were banned, collected and recycled and only existed in video games. Would sure make living in this world a lot more pleasant imo XDD

You do not always need a gun to kill, but it is one of the most conveniences used to do so. Many criminals will still find alternative ways to kill -- with knives, bows, crossbows, improv weapons [such as bricks, crow bars, etc] -- and even if all guns were banned, it would only affect the law abiding citizens, making them more defenceless to the criminals. Just a thought :D
Well of course, if it comes down to it we will kill each other with sticks and stones, it's in the human nature I guess ^^
And I REALLY don't believe in the idea that you need a gun to "defend" yourself from a criminal. I have spent the majority of my life in a district that was notorious for a rather high crime rate and I never saw the need one for one. But maybe that's just my experience.

Carry them around, like in some states: aka, all but IL, which has been mandated by the courts to make it allowable. Not really a problem, since by the numbers concealed carry permit holders are something like 1000 times more law-abiding than the average population.
Go figure, someone with "gunslinger" in their name is knowledgeable about guns! Ask and I can bury you in data.

I'm here to teach. I always tell people, give me an hour of your time and I can give you the tools to protect yourself from the strongest man in the world (I go out of my way to teach particularly at-risk people, such as gays or women). If you're ever in the states, I'm sure you can find someone who'd be happy to show you around one. In my experience, even people who are afraid of guns are less so after being taught the basics of safe gun handling. Fear of the unknown and whatnot.
Something humorous yet true I've seen around the internet "Why am I paranoid for carrying a gun, but it's perfectly sane to believe that everyone else is always one weapon away from a murderous rampage?"
Criminals commit crimes, regardless of tools. Law abiding remain law abiding, regardless of tools. Also, last I checked, in the US more people are killed in car accidents (where nobody wants it to happen) than are killed with guns (where at least one person intends for it to happen; "accidental" shootings are a vanishingly small percentage of the total), so in my mind the more dangerous thing is the one that is more capable of killing people who are explicitly trying to avoid having it kill them.

In all honesty, that still doesn't make me feel better about the lives of 31,076 people being taken by firearms only in america only in a single year. Sure, the majority of those were suicides but still 11,078 of those were homicides.
"On average, 33 gun homicides were committed each day for the years 2005-2010." I see something seriously wrong with this, but maybe that's only because I live in a country with comparibly tight gun restrictions.
But actually, tbh I don't really think there is a point in the two of us discussing this so much, after all we come from completely different cultures and I don't think we will ever see eye to eye in this matter because of that ^^

Eh, gotta chat with people you disagree with about things sometimes. Helps to come at problems from different positions, and keeps you from getting stuck into a single way of thinking.
Based on what you've said, you're in.. Australia, maybe? I was discussing gun laws and statistics with someone else from down under a bit back, was very interesting. One of the things I noticed about Australia's violent crime when they implemented stuff was a fairly sharp decline in homicides (while guns do in fact make crime deadlier, I'm at least just a little suspicious because places with fresh gun control always get caught doctoring numbers), and a SHARP upward spike in other violent crimes... and then from these new positions, crime resumed dropping at exactly the same rate it had been prior to the legislation. It's also misleading to look just at gun homicides/gun deaths. By that metric, a room with 3 people stabbed to death is safer than one with a gun death, so it serves as a means of trying to fudge data (and is a favorite tactic of the global anti-gun propaganda corps that is the news media). One other thing to watch out for in comparing statistics across countries is that not all countries count crimes the same way. For example, in the UK, someone who was stabbed 123 times in the back will not be added to the list of murders, unless someone is found, tried, convicted, and exhausts all of their appeals, whereas in the US, we pretty much go "yup, someone dead and they couldn't have done it themselves, add it to the list".
At least here in America, violent crime is overwhelmingly urban, and of that, overwhelmingly related to the drug trade (between gangs, by people hopped up on something, or someone trying to feed their habit to be hopped up on something). I'm inclined to fix the actual cause of the problem, rather than blaming the tools.
The thing nobody ever talks about is that despite having the largest number of the most capable guns of any time in history, the violent crime rate in the USA is about the lowest it's ever been. You'd think someone would try to take credit for that.
At any rate, I've said my piece, enjoy the rest of your day.

I am not from down under I actually live in Germany home of one of the leading armaments manufacturer Heckler und Koch. Furthermore in an urban area where I could easily get my hands on anything from gras to mdma to heroin and I'd just have to walk around the corner, cuz the hell's angels have one of their head quarters there. Aside from the fact that they own like every tattoo parlor and most of the bars around here ^^
But as I said, it doesn't really make any sense for us to be discussing this so excessively because we come from different cultures and have made very different experiences in our lives. Just know that I do and always will respect your or anyone else's view on this whole thing, I am not here to tell anyone "you better sell all your guns and dont ever buy another one" I just wanted to tell people my oppinion about firearms and make it known that I personally do not believe in them despite being a cynical, gore and violence loving passionate gamer and artist who is rather confident in his skill of shooting people faces off in video games X3
And with this, I wish you a good day aswell of course
