Check out some of my redecoration work on this asshole at work that thought it would be a fine idea to create a fire hazard in the building I guard.

Seriously? Bit of a bully much? Maybe this person did this because they have had their bike messed with or vandalized before. I know I have had to do similar things on many occasions because certain areas of my city are really bad for people who ride bikes (stolen bikes, slashed tires, broken spokes, ect). Judging from all the side pack and the fact there is a helmet present, this could possibly be this persons ride to work and back. How would you like it if someone went and put all sorts of violation sticks on your car, just because you decided to part in the pack of the parking lot and a security guard though it looked "suspicious". I think the better course of action would have been to try and find the owner and talk this problem out, letting them know that it is not okay to park their bike on the ramp, but perhaps offering some alternative spots that might be safer for their bicycle. In the end, two wrongs don't make a right :/
First off I did try to find them. I asked in every office in the building. Normal course of action is for me to call up maintenance, have them cut the lock, and toss it out onto the sidewalk. It's a fire hazard that we can get fined for if the Fire Marshal comes through. Two: There is a bike rack right around the corner from this entrance. I didn't see any other bikes in it. And finally: Other people park their bikes outside, chaining them to the meters or the bike rack and have -yet- to have one stolen or vandalized in the last five years I have worked here.
At least it didn't have it's lock cut with bolt cutters and thrown in the dumpster.
