Cintiqs are tablets from Wacom, but difference between the Intuos is that the Cintiq got a screen/display. http://images.quickblogcast.com/626.....913/cintiq.jpg
Wacom got different models of the Cintiq, but they are not cheap. they are above a 1000 dollars. (the 13HD being the cheapest for 999 dollars)

They only have up to Intuos 5 on the market right now. Cintiq's and the intuos/normal tablet lines are very different in the fact that you draw on the actual screen (like drawing on a computer screen) instead of using a tablet and looking at a computer screen. It's a matter of opinion on what is easier for each individual, but currently the specs aren't much different than the intuos 4/5. But some people work better with them, some don't. Regardless, they are a pricey investment~
I have written a review on deviantart : http://nadiavanderdonk.deviantart.c.....blet-369720169 :)
This is a seriously sexy tablet imo, extremely comfortable to use. I found that I was extremely heavy-handed with the Intuos4, i'd get worn nibs and frequent hand cramps. I try this tablet out for the first time, and my brushstrokes instantly transformed from resembling a lino-cutter, to gentle and delicate as if I were holding a feather.
It kinda shits me how everyone automatically assumes that people "buy cintiqs to magically become better artists" - Ironically enough, I grabbed one for a bunch of different reasons, and then despite all of the "cintiq won't make you improve" comments floating around, I actually noticed slight improvement in various areas as a direct result of adapting to this thing.
You work way faster with this tablet too, much more ergonomic than the Intuos4; I was expecting the loss of the touch-ring to be a huge stab in the ass - and it's hilarious watching your thumb trying to zoom with the rocker wheel and mash random buttons the first few days - but I don't miss the touch sensitivity at all... this thing had the exact right amount of buttons for me to comfortably replace touch-ring functionality.
I don't get neck pain with the 13HD, I get back pain from leaning forward. (I should probably invest into a better chair) >>;
...But yeah, 13HD is awesome, and i'd totally recommend one to anyone person who finds themself frequently drawing on their computer - and I look forward to seeing if/how this tablet affects your current art style~

Well the truth is your skill will be the same on the cintiq as you would draw on paper. my intuos 4 was awesome but it did not feel natural. I did not draw as good as I would on paper with it. but yes I agree, cintiq is much more comfortable and that can give you a little improvement. but I still draw the same as I would on Intuos 4, but with a better feeling. :)
This may sound dumb, but i've never actually drawn on paper... XD At least not after the age of 12.
I started with a Graphire 4 (which I barely touched), then I played around with an Intuos4 for a few years before wanting to try out a cintiq. A lot of people have said that you draw much more gentle when using a pen/paper, and i'm not sure if it's because it feels more natural (or because I don't want to scratch the screen, lmao) but the same appears to hold true with the cintiq. ^^
What's cool is having multiple screens to work with, I never actually knew that you could press Alt > W > A > W and then drag a duplicate canvas over to another screen. I set "Display Toggle" to the large stylus button, and then you can use it like an Intuos5 whenever you temporarily need a larger screen to work on. Absolute win~ <3
