is it just me or does the eyes look like he has IR vission?

Maybe he has IR vision :3 Talyxia has special sensory organ.
Their eyes are different with human's, so they can see the IR, or even sounds. but some of them are eyeless.
It's different among individuals.

This pic really evokes the whole "Haunted Woods" feeling for me. The bushes in the background give the impression that they're possessed by ghostly spirits in torment that are about to reach out and inflict some torment of their own. Despite the character's confidence (got to love your use of body language!) he's got himself into trouble!
LOL, I'm reading too much into this. Very evocative piece! It really sets a mood and shows the character very well.
