10 x 14 color pencil and a bit of Pitt brush pen
Crappy photo and couldn't get much detail. A lot of the dark places are no longer dark. some areas that are near black are just light gray now.
Hopefully I will get to post a professional scan Wednesday.
A speed paint for me. (anything less than a week, sketch to finish)(crappy photo)
IIiieeee! I'm a pumpkin! Though I signed it Sunday night I've been picking on it till just now. Could pick on it for weeks! Must. Stop. Now!
Critique or suggestions welcome.
Started out as just a pin-up but evolved into something a little more complex. outlined a short story to go with it. Why can't I ever do things the easy way?
A star-fighter pilot, she has been lost deep underground for months after a high velocity impact drives her ship kilometers into the alien planet...
She nears the surface just before sunrise, the sky is still dark, covered by heavily ladened clouds. She is fatigued, near delirious and basically climbing the ancient volcanic vent on auto pilot when a thunderclap brings her to herself. She realizes she is surrounded by a dim grey light unlike the bioluminescence that had been guiding her way for so long. She now feels the cooler, fresher air ,(There had almost always been a strong air current but it had been warm, damp, unpleasant.) Still not daring to hope she had reached the surface, for she had had her hopes dashed before, she pulls herself up to peer over the edge of the opening. Before her eyes could adjust to the light and distant focal length, the orange sun that had just now crept above the horizon, broke through a gap in the clouds....
Need to finish this by Monday morning so I can get it scanned. It will be in the AC art show.
Put off scan till tuesday.

It's pretty cool that it evolved into a story. Even without the text spelling it all out, I think the image benefits from it. I also love the fuzziness your characters show. As for the camera washing things out, that can be tweaked a bit in software: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10982147/ (I'll delete that in a day or two, or once you say you've seen it, whichever's sooner.) That's rather a bit more aggressive than I usually like to do and probably isn't even close to what the original looks like, but I spent all of like a minute on it.
I wish I'd known you were open to critiques, I would've said something sooner. The left arm and hand look...feasible, but unnatural. I'd expect to see either the back of the hand facing more or less toward the viewer and in line with the forearm (basically hanging down with just the fingers supporting), or fingers and left side of the palm over the ledge with the thumb gripping the near side. Am I making sense? (I really need to get a tablet hooked up one of these times so I can just scribble what I'm trying to describe; all this text makes it seem like a bigger deal than it really is.) I've tried the position as it appears to me, and it's pretty uncomfortable. Anyway, that's the thing that really jumped out at me.

Thank you!
A friend of mine mentioned the hand wrist problem but didn't elaborate and I didn't understand till just know.Yeah, feasible but not comfortable. I'm always open for critique, It's how I learn and is one reason I post these WIPs, so people can catch errors like that before I go to far with it.
Missed this one and there are other problems I'd also liked to have caught., but I learn from my mistakes and will do better next time.

Oh deer, that is beautiful! Even with a 'crappy' photo I still am in awe! Her fur patterns are adorable. Interesting design too; I've never seen brindle in a lupine species before. Of course with Anthros they could have more freedom with mates.
And as always, you give the anthros such a delicate sheen of fur. Making me wish to run my fingers though that coat, especially from behind; distracting her. (giggle) Yes I'm sorry. She's fascinating. I can't wait to show this to my GF.
And I hope you make a killing at AC with this. Wishing I could come too.

Yeah, the foot I noticed on my own after it was to late. I was kinda "speed painting" with this and I went after things with color before I perfected the sketch. I'll try to make sure the sketch is correct first next time. I was trying to get this done for AC. Did but flawed :( Learned a few things though and overall I'm happy with it. I like critique and have only been helped by it.
Thanks for the help and I'll strive to do better next time.:)
