THE GRATEFUL DEAD: CASEY JONES
Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.
This old engine makes it on time,
Leaves Central Station 'bout a quarter to nine,
Hits River Junction at seventeen TWO,
At a quarter to ten you know it's DRIVIN' again.
Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.
Trouble ahead, Lady in red,
Take my advice you'd be better off dead.
Switchman's sleeping, train hundred and two is
On the wrong track and headed for you.
Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, YOU KNOW, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.
Trouble with you is the trouble with me,
Got two good eyes but WE still don't see.
Come round the bend, you know it's the end,
The fireman screams and the engine just gleams...
Driving that train, high on cocaine,
Casey Jones YOU BETTER, watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And you know that notion just crossed my mind.

Always wished I'd gotten to hear that in concert. No such luck... that said, here's a tasty late-1978 version. :)
Meh, screwed up the url. Here's the direct link. http://ia310103.us.archive.org/0/it.....03t06_64kb.mp3
Thats about the only reason why an engine would have elephant ears, interesting considering that it was a German innovation.
" There have been various styles of smoke deflectors used by different railway operators worldwide. However, many are essentially a variation of one of two designs of "Windleitbleche" (smoke deflector) originating from the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (German Imperial Railway): the earlier, larger "Wagner" type deflector, and the later, smaller "Witte" type deflector.
