There were actually multiple layers of cel shading in this picture, but I thought it was perhaps too intense for such a simple and calming picture. I love doing soft, nighttime coloring like this, it's peaceful.

Body-along-body, too, which maximizes contact, and thus, traps more heat.

And that's even presuming the night has been a quiet one, with merely gentle cuddling and rest.
