I believe so. The third eye has some sort of special properties.

Aye, the third eye perceives infrared/low frequency light. The other two/primary eyes perceive mostly the same colors we can, but not as many shades of dark blues as we can. But, with their third eye they can see shades of red/orange/yellow that we can't even imagine.
