This is my mother's dog Patches. I had sketched him before I had left her house on a small canvas. This is what I came up with. I found out this year that my mom had to put him down, he had gone blind and wasn't getting the quality of life he needed. I was heat broken to hear that. So, I decided that this would be my "fun" painting. I have yet to decide whether I should give this to my mother or not. I don't want this painting to be the reason she gets depressed again. Again, our scanner cremated the glitter paint I had put on the wings. Tell me what you guys think of my work. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. This is a beautiful painting, and even though seeing it might bring back painful memories, it'll also bring back years of wonderful memories. I'm just a random person on the internet, but I think your mom would love to see this. It's an amazing painting.
no he was a English springer spaniel. its just the whole concept of a dog angel in such a beautiful setting made me think back to bent, that is Bentley. I called him bent. He always tired to look healthy and young when I was around. when I was off in college, he apparently let himself go because my parents kept saying he was sick. but I didn't see it... besides the pooing in the family room and the mysterious pink patch where his skin and fur started pealing off in his last week.
