Mr. Son does Dwarf Fortress 001: The Hallway

I've been playing Dwarf Fortress recently. I was just playing today, in fact. I was waiting for my dwarves to haul more items to the trade depot so I could make some additional trades with the caravan from the Mountainhome, when my attention fell on a dwarf in the hallway who had a barrel. I waited for them to start moving towards the depot, but after a while of them remaining where they were, while other dwarves passed them by, I hit the V key to give them a look. They were drinking. Sitting with a barrel in the middle of the hall, drinking.
So, this.
And yes, there was a pig wandering the halls nearby. Someone's pet, which will become dinner if something kills their owner.

I had a dwarf beat a cyclops to death with their bare fists, no military training, no armour, just a plain farmer.
Then another cyclops arrived shortly later and got the same treatment...
