The Spanish Astra m900 Broomhandle, spot the salient points
Here is a photo of my original, unrefinished commercial Mauser Broomhandle (C96) and my Spanish
ASTRA Model 900 Broomhandle.
While the Astra were considered bargain copies of the Mauser early on, they were very well made by the late 1920s and only share basic lines of the original.
A arrow shows that the magazine assembly of the lower frame sets back further than the original.
B arrow shows the shorter bag-style grip of the Astra.
C arrow (upside down) shows the sliding plate of the Astra's frame/receiver.
The internals of the Astra are completely original, thus no internal parts may be switched between the two manufacturers. While the caliber (7.63 Mauser) and stripper clips used to load the two guns are the same, other than the basic lines the guns dont share much design-wise.
Nonetheless, they do share the basic profile, that of early self loading pistols of Europe, representing commercial success and stiff competition between companies selling predominantly to China, though records indicate that many countries ordered the Mauser pistol to include: Italy, Persia, Turkey, Russia and Norway. others may have placed small orders. Green bits cover my serial numbers, because you dont need them.

I wouldnt even do that to my boat anchor not safe to fire piece. Thats what those good looking solid repros are for....
The WW1 rifle grenade Lucas used to make some characters lightsabre grip from actually became even more rare cuz the dopey star wars freaks were tearing apart originals for their playtoy lightsabre models.... Pissed me off bigtime. They make repros now so the star tards can fuck fakes up instead....

oh you just gave me a great idea, in a big lot of stuff at my buddys shop there is a blank-firing broomhandle that LOOKS good but seems to be made out of pot metal so i cant use any parts from it. It's old though and it seems to work. Would be perfect for a Han Solo blaster...
