OH NOW IT'S GETTING WAYDAHECKOUT W E I R D !! Up to before the door was opened, it was a crazy frustration sitcom, and now it's -as you said - RPG. The temporary eviction was to get her out of the house while the portal was being set up.
I recall from Anthropomorphics #2-3, a story about a guy, the only survivor of a world-wide thermonuclear war. Surviving on what he can scronge up, oxygen in the atmosphere running out. Doesn't know whether he'll run out of food, or out of oxygen first. Searches an uninhabited city (odd that no bodies laie about.). He sees a shadowy figure and chases after it, finds a blind alley -and ,by picking up a talisman, opens a door in the ground. The excerpt ends with him falling into it. The shadowy figure, a wizard, smiles.
Where this story headed, if it was continued, I've no idea.
