In times when things feel difficult or overwhelming, it is comforting to know you have someone who you can turn to for advice. Stands Firm so seeks the counsel of his chief, Chief Running Stream, a very motherly chief with a big love for everyone in her tribe.

This drawing and moment is inspired by the great relationship I have with my grandparents and elders. We have great conversations, and I always love to hear what they have to say. Not only that, I hold that my elders, especially my grandfather, saved my life from a bad direction it was going in. For that reason, this drawing holds a lot of emotions for me.
