Commission for
blackdragon1800 of his lithe tiger, Lazerus.
He gave me liberty to design his steampunk-ness, which was a lot of fun. I was reminded of how much I enjoy painting clothing. I went for a more 'casual' steampunk, as I'm not as much of a fan of the more extreme stuff.
I sort of last-minute decided his shirt needed to be pinstriped....because if you're not here to win, get the hell out of Kuwait.
CLOSE-UP
(Also, for those interested, he just commissioned me for a sort of sequel picture where all the pretty clothing isn't on anymore ;) So, as a heads-up, you'll be seeing one more of this cute guy in a little bit.)

Wonderful job on this. I adore the choices of where the shirt ends and the pants begin. Really a lot of time and effort put into this capturing a very common style choice that a lot never take notice for. And I really do feel the arms are well rounded and as if I'm really looking at the character like I should be :3 Wonderful job!
The rendering is indeed excellent :) Especially the clothing.
However there is one thing I noticed instantly and that's his arm holding the cap. There is some really bizarre uncanny valley going on there. The entire arm is angled in such a way that it looks like he should be scratching the back of his head, but the hand is in front of his face holding onto the peak of the cap and also at a weird angle. Its also comically short compared to the other arm. His ear also seems set a bit further back to accommodate the hat.
