This page is a little late because, in the midst of flatting it, my screen finally called it quits! Most of my equipment I've had since high school and I've taken very good care of it but as often as I've moved and used the stuff some of its bound to break occasionally. HOWEVER, I just immediately went out and got a new screen, ya know, instead of begging for donations like I see so many people do. A REAL MAN ACCEPTS CHARITY BUT NEVER ASKS FOR IT (nor is he humble, apparently) INSTEAD SURVIVING ON HIS OWN FIGHTING SPIRIT AND THE INK THAT MAKES UP HIS BLOOD
Little did you know you were getting a new page AND some rock solid advice.

Accidents happen and they are unfortunate, and sometimes people get in over there heads even though they've done everything by the books (case in point, when a cartoonist friend of mine was being sued for frivolous reasons I helped him hire a lawyer). What I can't abide by are people I see buying expensive costumes and then asking for money to buy a car (you're an adult, buy a car first) or people buying large amounts of frivolous anime merchandise in lieu of maintaining a reliable savings account for when you need it (these are real life examples, and no I will not name names). My original statement was made in the spirit of professional responsibility, not to spite those in less fortunate circumstances.
That blue tint in the top panel is absolutely gorgeous!
Also, I have to say I'm continually impressed with Meier in particular. I think he's the most interesting character, although that doesn't mean that the rest of them are not interesting. He's more black and white than a chessboard.
I think he has rather interesting lines and delivery as well. I'm not saying Simon and Leon are not interesting, but those two seem like the kind of guys who, when asked if they'd jump off a bridge, they'd say yes. That's my interpretation anyway- you're the one who knows what's laid out for all of them hehe.

That's a funny and curious mistype, and it's not even a Freudian slip! :)
I like how Meier is a contrast to Simon and Leon. He has an edge to him, much like his sword.
I know that it's not meant to be 'Ooh, fuzzy wuzzy cutesy animals!', even though it's furry, and this is a furry website- we lap that up, so to speak. You started out, of those three, with Leon, who's all friendly and a bit goofy, and then you have Simon, who seems upbeat and cheerful. There's the dynamic of "How deep is their relationship?", and regardless of the actual answer, my interpretation of it is that there's a bond, a connection, an interaction between the two.
However, and I don't necessarily mean that as a negative- just being observant- Those two are rather innocent. I daresay they both have a degree of being oblivious to the world. They're idiots, but I don't mean that to be insulting. They seem intelligent enough, but they appear rather blind to how the world really works.
I'm sure you can maybe think of examples in your life, and I can with mine? How life is not all sunshine and rainbows, as much as we'd like to wish it was? Simon and Leon don't seem as pessimistically realistic as the rest of us.
Meier is a great contrast because he has a more grounded personality, and he has a bit of bite to him. It paints the Vul as more than cute and fluffy animal people. He's deadly serious at times, for example warning that the anti-Vul group is going to 'cut their fuzzy fucking balls off', in addition to the latent serious manner required for white-collar jobs. He's possibly a bit crazy, though, being labelled a murder-perv after slicing Leon's clothes off without miraculously hurting him, as well as being documented as having thrown a live hand grenade at Simon.
There's also the, dare I say it, troll-like face in this panel and the teasing attitude "Won't you lock me up, government man?" Lines like that get me interested in Meier, because I just don't know whether he's 'actually' like this, circumstances made him who he is, or whether he's just screwing with us.
He's either serious or humorous when he seemingly feels like being whichever, but particularly from his impressive show of swordsmanship, there's an underlying note of danger, showing that he could probably cause great harm. He knows how to handle a blade, that's for sure.
He just comes across to me as perhaps being more....combative than Simon and Leon, and not above getting his hands dirty. He has a dark quality to him, which I find appealing because I think it gives him more dimension as a character than would otherwise be the case.
That's why I like him, but obviously this comic is on-going- some questions will be concluded, and others will open up, so I'll likely end up with more or different points to make in the future.
Maybe this is just coincidental- I don't know if it's purposely-done or not, especially seeing how Bone and Lady Bone are also mainly black and white, but I think it is neat how Meier visually contrasts with Simon and Leon- he's black and white, and Simon and Leon are more colourful.

I must also say that I really like the blue tint in that first panel. That's a bang-up job there.
"It's so much bigger than on Youtube...Hard to believe it's even real."
I was going to make a sex joke, but low-hanging fruit and all, so I'll settle for telling Leon to stop being such a pleb.
"The VIP's stance with Dyklon is...complicated."
Oh no. That's really bad. That's "there's no laws covering this so if you fuck up we'll probably kill you" territory. I told you to get out of there, Leon! I told you man!
"All you need to do is keep your mouth shut when I said so."
"It's actually really easy!"
"Thank you Simon, and he's right!"
Alternatively,
"Shutting the fuck up! Now available to you too!"
