This was as far as I got on this project. Everything is complete except the head strap. The brazing and other processes I had to use weathered this pair nicely. I had intended to polish them and seal the brass, but I decided that this looked better. This is entirely brass, stainless steel, leather, and glass. They weigh about a pound and a half and make a really loud noise when you drop them on a table :P The band attaches to these through two brass hoops, which lets them sit quite comfortably on your head.

The felt holding the lenses in place did not quite fit, so the lenses are just sandwiched directly between the two brass retaining rings.

The leather work was pretty entertaining, I learned a few different stitching techniques just to find ones I liked. I probably broke 8 needles working on this, since I had to hit a very small hole in the brass and go through 4 layers of leather. I had to use those big ass curved needles, canvas needles I think, and did all the sewing using two needle nose pliers
