Ah, well, being son of retired military parents, I've seen all sorts of parts of Texas. I was born in east Texas, went to tech school in Austin, and now living not to far from San Antonio. My father retired from the Army while stationed at Ft. Hood, which is the largest military base so far. The area around Ft. Hood refers to itself as the Hill Country as they have quite a few hills about the area. I sort of noted personally that the east part of Texas is the forest, south is the industrial beach front, central is sort of plains land akin to the savanna in certain areas, west is the desert with the oil fields, and north is a bit hilly and mountainous in particular areas. When you do a six hour drive from San Antonio to Dallas, you certainly can see the differences.

Yeah, it is. Most people like visiting San Antonio because it's where the Alamo is and the Riverwalk in San Antonio is nice.
