One of my first experiments with gold leaf. Gold leaf is pretty but extremely difficult to apply (and scan for that matter)! I was inspired by Baroque ornamentation, the soft raw curveyness of Beth Cavener Stichter’s sculptures and the gold leaf & graphite rendering choice is influenced by Yoann Lossel. A very fun experience overall :) --I think the hardest part was making the gold sparks coming from the eyes.
