this episode bugged the hell out of me. I wanted to see him out of the fog damn it...also how does a giant dragonite go unnoticed in the sea...

if memory serves me right. The pokemon worlds oceans are incredibly deep. This is ndicated by the Trouble Aboard St.Anne Episode when it sunk. Then theres Pokemon the movie 2000 where we see lugia deep in one of the lower ocean currents.

That episode kind of bothers me. Why did Bill want to meet that Pokemon if it's a Pokemon that's already been identified? I mean, the very next episode after that one listed Dragonite as a Pokemon that had already been documented (granted, at the time it was used in the Pokedex's description of Raichu so it's possible said documentation wasn't necessarily very detailed), but Bill seemed to build up this Pokemon as this really big deal, some kind of legendary Pokemon that hadn't ever been discovered to that day. Also, the only other time I can think of that the series introduced giant Pokemon was four episodes later, where it turned out they were robots. So, was this Dragonite just another robot Pokemon from that island, or was it a real Pokemon?

...And I feel like I'm just harping now, so I'll stop.

I think Bill was interested in this particular Dragonite because it was giant and not a robot. It could be a legendary Dragonite that is 20 times it's normal size. At least, that's my logic.

From what i understand on the pokemon world. Giant Pokemon apparently are not impossible in that world.

Ashes pikachu on the right he famous surfing pikachu on the left. The surfing pikachu if i recall is supposed to be 30-35 some years old.

So it seems the older a pokemon gets the bigger it becomes. However this is also not entirely the case. There are the extremely large charizards you see from the episode where ash leaves charizard at the charicific valley. http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/t....._Charizard.png
Apparently they are this way due to simple genetics and having evolved without a trainer.

Not to mention the Tentacruel that got artifically enlarged by being saturated in toxic chemicals. Maybe the Dragonite was normal sized once but had a similar accident.

oh cripes i forgot about that! Also wasn't there a instance where a gulpin was enlarged? Also in a movie wasn't Pikachu, Treeco grown as well? hahaha

Too bad Ash didn't get to have some fun interaction with his Treecko before he returned to normal, imagine him rubbing those big green feet or sitting in a hand as he walked around, even getting some big but gentle affection.

I heard about this tale. Though when I met that Dragonite,I was surprised to find him rather small.

I'm so so thrilled that someone commissioned this. That episode made me so sad, fucking team rocket spoiling things for no reason at all. The poor thing just wanted a friend, and I was on the edge of my seat dying to see it discover Bill and start a conversation with it, and the two would become dear friends. I wanted that so bad, almost cried. X3

Way sweet scenario to think of. I'm sure as a researcher Bill would be superexcited and he'd probably hold that day very precious in his memory forever. It's such a luck nobody of Team Rocket is around. They'd probably go out with a big squadron mission to capture such a huge Dragonite.

A beautiful scene, Kit. The sky, the ocean and cliff, haa~ Everything seems so peaceful and friendly. It's nearly a dreamlike scenario, simply a beautiful day for two friends. And Dragonite looks cute. (-^.=.^-)
