Well, I was going to send this transmission yesterday, but for once I hit the file limit, so had to trim it down...but ahh well, frustrating but got it!
Anyway, happy new cycle! Hopefully 2014 will be a good one. Personally didn't party TOO much...just much of a regular day I guess.
But, to the theme. Almost everybody knows Bioshock. And yes, I did comment on it for the Infinite, but lets talk about the original two (yes, I'm aware of the DLC for Infinite by the way).
Now, I'm not one for shooters unless they got an interesting plug. And Bioshock kind of had that, but it's mainly the background that pulls you in. A city that humans (somehow) built under the sea early on that's just...wow. It's almost steampunkish if not for all the water.
Your seemingly just an ordinary joe happening upon this world for the first time and see that this marvel of engineering and ingenuity...has come crashing down around itself. Kind of sad really, but inevitable when you got a "YOU CAN NOT LEAVE!" policy set up. Oh yeah, and those "barring on magical powers through the use of sea slugs put into little girls" thing probably had something to do with it to huh?
It's a great bundle, lots of different strategies, weapon and plasmid combinations, stories revolving around morality and willpower coming up to a fascinating journey you may want to take again.
Anyway...I've played those games to death and know most of the ins and outs, so for this New Years, I went back in. Why? Well poor old Rapture's final "civil" day just happened to end in 1958's New Year's Eve celebrations. Riots, mayhem, and casualties to the max, thanks to the war between Andrew Ryan and "Atlas". (somebody actually did a live-action bit about this riot, check around for it. It's got a CGI Big Daddy!....or was it an Alpha series....)
So yep, in honor of rapture, I set the Splicer spawning to off, settled down at the Kashmir Resturant, and gave a toast to the fallen city to try to give it a little better end to it's 1958 run before it all went down hill (or down sea rather).
As the Bioshock Song say's....Forget Atlantis!

Thanks I had to cut it down unfortunately since it was too big, but it was just mostly the sides, so most of it is there
Yeah, the flickering sign of the restaurant that finally gave and fell to the floor. Always like that uneasy feeling you get with such things in-game

Yeah same. Though that's another thing, the color-work is amazing. You got to constantly remember all the blue from the ocean and the darkness and yellow tints from all the machinery and architecture keeping it from COMING DOWN ON YOU
Yes, sometimes it's good to be scared Not...in real life mind you ahem.

Huh, realy nice pic there, always liked these animated details that ya do that makes it unique.
And I agree, Bioshock was one hell of a game, not only was it chilling to play a character in this dark damp unholy place with flickering lights and constant attacks, but the story was so incredibly gripping after the second half it was imposible to just stop a any moment.

Yeah, I try to add a little something unique. I may not be the best creator out there, but at least I can make something unique
Yeah, so many different places...from the underbelly, to the markets...to the hotels and core of Rapture...so amazing.
And yeah...things just keep getting more and more interesting...ohhhh...sucks "Atlas" had to do "that"
