If anyone follows my ramblings, this is a character from a story I've been puttering around for years (have I even mentioned it on here?), Children of the Revolution. This happens to be the mother of the protagonists, Kris and Jo Archer. This chick is a badass and I may have a massive crush. She ran away from home at fourteen, formed her own merc band and ruled the wastes for a few years before getting caught up in political strife (i.e., civil war), where she eventually became pregnant with Kris. Didn't stop her though, she kept on doing her job until she literally could not anymore. Needless to say, perhaps, but Kris was born on a battlefield.
