"To Todd Mc Caffrey, the Lord of Pern."
This book was a commission by Michael K., the chairman of Rustycon as a gift to their Guest of Honour, Todd Mc Caffrey, who is the author of "Dragonheart" and "Dragonriders of Pern".
Since it was a surprise, I had to wait until it got handed to Mr. Caffrey. Apparently the surprise was a big success! =)
The book is my biggest book-project I have done so far. It's a book completely made from scratch and has hand bound and hand dyed A3 sheets to give it a worn and ancient look, book corners, a full leather cover, a hand-painted glass eye surrounded by modelled Sculpey.
It was truly one exciting project for me and I can't wait to work on the next.
Which one shall it be?

No no no no no no no.... you had to go and be creative and awesome and make something that I want to own now, didn't you? :)

Erinnert mich etwas an Schtonk!, wo Uwe Ochsenknecht als Fälscher Fritz Knobel die Hitlertagebücher möglichst authentisch fälscht, indem er alte Schulhefte aus der DDR nimmt, Kaffee und altes Vollkornmehl draufkippt und sie dann nochmal kurz in den Toaster steckt!
Sieht aber wirklich genial aus! Wieviel kostet sowas? Wäre immer gut als Filmrequisite zu gebrauchen.

This book is everything a book *should* be. Every book should be made like this, something to enjoy and treasure long into the future.
As for what you should do next? With skills like yours, I'd say "Anything you want". ^^ But considering you did this for the Pern series... why not do a book for each of the really awesome furry themed book series that are out there? For example, "The Man-K'zin Wars" series has those sexy tiger people in it; why not take a look and see?
Also, and this was always a series I loved when I was younger, the series based on "Fuzzies" an alien race found on a world primed for exploitation. Small, golden furred and amazingly cute, there's a whole series of the books out:

I'd always loved this series, and would be very interested in seeing what you would do as a "all in one" book representing them.
As for what you should do next? Yea, I faved... Very gorgeous book, and I'm sure Todd is proud to own it!
The only fly in the ointment, as far as I'm concerned, is that Pern dragons do -NOT- have scales. They are covered with a thick and resilient hide.
That aside, it is a stunning piece, that only proves your prowess as an artist of many forms of 'art' =^.^=

Amazing work! And that it was a gift for a famous fantasy writer makes it even more special. I'm sure you are proud of it, and you have all right to be, it's well deserved! :)
Now, since you said you will make more books, please you allow me a bit of constructive criticism. If I wanted to look for the weakest link, I would name the corners - all the rest is beautifully handmade by you, and the corners don't match up completely with the quality of the rest. It's already amazing work, but if you could make your own corners for your next piece, or at least get unique handmade ones, that would absolutely top it. I hope you don't mind me looking for ways for improvement, I can't help it, my mind does that all the time, even when I look at things that are exceptional quality.
