Who is Skunek? Well, that all depends on when you talk to him! Skunek might be a down-on-his-luck but nonetheless cocky and brash adventurer. Or... he might be a stranger in a strange land. A sort of shy, hesitant, overthinking sort that will be the first to admit he's in way over his head.
For you see, Skunek (Skoo-neck) has stumbled upon a mystical ruby in the course of his misadventures, which has since channeled the spirit of Z into his body. All Z remembers is that he is from a faraway land where furless creatures rule and skunks like Skunek are quadrapedal wild animals. Now Skunek and Z must work together as they are forced to take turns being in control of the body; seeking to discover the mystery of the ruby and how to return back to the way they once were.

Okay, I'm just going to say this straight out. The ENTIRETY of this character came to me in a dream. I'm not even joking. The character, the name Skunek, the two different spirits inhabiting the same body... I had a dream about them bickering with one another, especially seeing as their personalities contrast so fiercely.
You could say I have a lot of experience in dissociative identities, so I suppose it points the finger at me about why these characters came to me in the first place. I always find it very neat when multiple "selves" are part of a story, especially when added to a sort of fantastic setting like this. So, yeah. I have no idea if I'd pursue this idea further, but I HAD to draw it once I thought of it.

Facts:
Skunek is the original. He's a down-on-his-luck adventurer that doesn't lack for confidence. He is absolutely CERTAIN he is destined for great things. However, he's never made it big in his travels, due partially to the circumstances and partially because of his utterly hamfisted technique and his overzealousness. Even having a spirit take over his body half the time is something he considers more of a minor inconvenience than anything else. THAT'S HOW DEDICATED HE IS. Skunek has incredibly confident red eyes when he is in control.
Z (I pronounce it "zee," but you can say "zed" if you want) is... well, obviously from the human world. He was transported into Skunek's world and... well... his BODY through the ruby that Skunek found on one of his poorly-planned escapades. He doesn't remember much about his old life but he was just as much of a misfit there as Skunek is; just for different reasons. While Skunek is brash, hasty, and overconfident, Z is shy, overanalytical, and highly critical of himself. He had wide, very shy blue eyes when he is in control.
Z and Skunek often argue... both internally and out loud... about what they should be doing. As of the beginning of their journey, they have no ability to change willingly between one or the other. It just happens suddenly every few hours to a day.
Oh, and he's been descented since birth. It's only common courtesy, after all!
