ARTISTS: BE BRUTALLY HONEST

Feeling a bit tired with drawing all those hands, I figured I'd go ahead and mess around trying to draw some feet-paws. If there's anything I learned on FurAffinity, it's that paws are deal-breakers when it comes to good furry artwork, so I knew finding a good furry artist who knew his/her paws would be essential.
At one point - during my search - I came across
, and it was in their "Favorites" section that I found this one tutorial on how to draw feet-paws by
. This tutorial in particular had 3D elements to it and showed some pretty good outlines, so I dediced to give it a shot. At first, I felt as though something was still off despite by fairly decent first efforts. Then it hit me mid-way drawing the side-view of a foot-paw that maybe I was drawing the guiding sphere too small. So I tried enlarging it in another attempt. And lo and behold, it seemed I was right! The sphere didn't match up with how big it was in the tutorial, and in turn, it messed with my mind; thank goodness I noticed that sooner rather than later. Looking at my second attempt at the front view of the foot-paw, I should consider adding lines beside either side of the sphere to sort of accentuate where the ankles are (if that is where the ankles should go). Unfortunately, 3D is still somewhat intimidating to me. I mean, it looks as though I was able to get through it just fine the first time around trying a diagonal view in the upper-right corner, but I get the feeling that the "boxes" weren't drawn to proportion. With that in mind, I feel happy with how this attempt turned out. I never draw feet-paws at all (and I'm sure as hell not as obsessed about it as virtually as everyone else ), but trying out such a new concept wasn't so bad. Still, any and all help would be much appreciated; I mainly want reassurance that I'm on the right path.
Sticking to one style of drawing isn't enough for me, it seems, so I felt random enough to try out a few artists' styles. Hope you enjoy. Again, I'm willing to improve, so please don't feel bad critiquing me; it's the only way I'll learn.

Ironically, I tried asking
to essentially critique my efforts using his tips, but he has yet to reply. lol
Still, it's reassuring to know that my efforts somewhat echo your style of feet-paws a bit. :3 Of course, I'm actually trying to start practicing and learning to draw furry art all over again from the head-down; it's a slow progress, but I'm trying my best as often as I can. ;^w^
In the meantime, I will say thank you very much for the comment, and thank you very much for watching this fellow ninja lion on FA! What an honor coming from a cool furry artist who knows how to draw sweet, cute ladies in certain situations that really get me smilin'! >w<
Consider me a new watcher in return! Stay awesome, Tydrian! :D

It is a long practice, but what worked best for me was to just keep drawing hundreds of pictures without worrying too much about accuracy. That way the kinks naturally work themselves out over time, while being successfully productive in sharing lots of pictures that people can enjoy.
What kills productivity is when I see an artist try to erase and redraw the same line hundreds of times over because it does not look "just right"; if the artist would ignore that small defect and continue to complete the full sketch, then that problematic line may not look so bad anymore. Such tiny errors are especially overlooked more with a good coloring process.
And you are welcome! I like to see artists starting out and wanting to see where their art will go, and be there when they start making the great stuff, so long as they enjoy drawing their stuff. X3
