I've upgraded to a Nikon D7000 ( was using a D5000 ) - so this is the toy I'll be using at cons from Confuzzled '14 onwards :)
Yes, I know it's already obsolete, but I wasn't going to pay €1200 for the D7100 :p

And of course, my old D5000 will be going to you at CFz.
I'll be giving you the camera, an 18-55mm lens, two batteries & a charger. The plug for the charger is the UK kind, so you'll need to bring an Italian plug adaptor. I have the instruction book, but it's in English only.
Also, you'll need SD cards.

It's not really about price range, it's more about being happy with the level of camera I'm at. When you start buying the 1000+ models you're heading into a level of photography that's heading more towards the professional end. I enjoy taking pics - I want the images to be of high quality, but at the same time it's just a hobby.
I use a 2.8f 40mm lens and takes fantastic low-light photos at conventions and furry raves. Also provides a great depth-of-field! The D7000 is still one of the best low-light sensor (cheers, Sony!) DSLR's out there though even with the standard lens on. :D
I have and still use a D7000 myself, have done for 3 years now. I can not fault this camera at all. Even with it being nearly 5 years old, it's still one of the best on the top-end consumer DSLR's and has kept it's value too, I love it to bits and I am sure you will very much too. :D
