I have become very discontent with my work. I hate it, to be honest. I feel it's moving in a direction I don't have any interest in going. I want to take this year to get back to things that truly inspire my soul, to get back to the images in my head. I don't know what it is, but I know I want it.
This is a repaint of a piece from 2011 in hopes of exploring that direction I want to go now~

I've been criticized rather harshly that my work lacks emotion; that what I feel doesn't come through. So your comment really warms my heart. I certainly felt different after finishing this-- I actually like it, lol. It really is amazing when you can finally connect to your work.
I'm excited for this. And I'm excited to see where your path takes you. :)

Oh man, I really love this painting. The colors, the atmosphere... it's simply gorgeous. *.*
I especially love how the inorganic shapes - like the circular moon and the circles around the dragon's head - contrast with the organic and traditional feeling of the rest of the painting. Great job!

Hm. The question I do have is:
What kind of art, topics, characters... would you like to do "again" ?
As far as I can judge most of your pictures are very harsh and dark, so, I assume that you'd like to do something bright, shiny, reflecting ,something dazzling in the light of day, and , maybe, colorful.
Adding to that what
aboveClouds wrote, I take it that you desire topics that either blend organic shapes with clean geometry, or maybe, abstracting it somewhat, technology and biology in a harmonious whole.
I might have a few suggestions, and when you'd like to hear them just poke me.
In the worst case you clap your hands above your head and tell me I was totally wrong.

I have no desire to draw bright or colourful things. X3 In regards to what I want to do again, it is more a matter of how I would approach a painting. I have found I was trying to fit into a niche by painting as those around me did and that just isn't where I want to go. I want to make paintings that only seem natural, paintings in which geometric shapes, mainly circles as I have a strange obsession with them, contrast sharply with an organic setting. I want to paint realism in a surreal way and make something that is jarring to the senses but still beautiful. :)
This piece bring questions to my mind. I like that. To me that is great artwork; something that people can stand around and contemplate. Art should never have one meaning. It's meaning should lie in the eye of the viewer just like beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I have questions about why things are happening in this piece, and I don't want them answered. I want my mind to wonder.
