Good writing and and an interesting fanfic idea, but the idea of Loki (in human form), swallowing another large adult person whole just seemed totally absurd (even for a god). If this were a movie, no one would take it seriously unless he shape shifted into an actual serpent. As I recall, in actual Norse mythology, Loki sired the great Midgard serpent, so perhaps his real form is a serpent, like so many of the ancient gods all over the world.
