11” x 14” graphite line drawing to be used to transfer to the color pencil piece.
This is the character in which I took my name early on. He is one of many many characters in my proposed Ark Worlds series and the one I suppose I would most like to be in a fantasy life. Anthropomorphic siberian tiger starship pilot. :)
I will be making some modifications as I go but as always, critique and suggestions are appreciated.
It was the missing link in the intelligent design theory, and when the human world was discovered, it was hoped that the reason for the creation of the Confederated Worlds and their respective dominant species, would be at last answered. But still more questions arose instead. And although the humans were definitely the genetic template in which all known sentient beings were based, and their planet, the only naturally occurring world now in the confederation, was the one in which all others were patterned, it was determined that they were not the creators and lacked the technical knowledge and capabilities to perform the genetic engineering involved, let alone the ability to create entire planets along with detailed functioning ecosystems. In fact, human technology was quite primitive, having just barely reached the stage where they were able to explore beyond their own planetary boundary.
But in the end, Earth was reluctantly invited to join the confederation. This was partially due to the fact they now had in their possession, a starship, wrecked but still technically informative, and partially because no one wanted a loose cannon out there on the fringe. And besides, although the humans had little to offer in the way of raw materials or advanced technology, they had reached a degree considerably higher than all other planets in their development and sophistication of certain vices that were suitable for export…
“Ark Worlds” series. Outlined though it may never be written. I do have spinoff short stories in the works.
This was hastily written and does not tell much about the Ark Worlds, but I’ll work on something.
Mmmmm! Bailey's Irish Cream on the rocks and a good cigar. Can't get better than that!

nice and classical "sci-fi illustration" style. love the pose, too. :)
there is a detail about the head that irritates me, and if I'm wrong just ignore it. but to me it looks like the visible flap is higher than the other's front end seems to indicate. like the head is leaned to the character's left side, without being not...
does that make sense? 0.o

when you brought up the subject of the head lean, I looked at the ears and saw the far ear was considerably higher making it appear his head was leaning to the right when the rest of the features indicated a level head. Perhaps with the ear adjustment (right ear made longer) will make the flap issue less apparent.
Thanks Kan! Sorry I've been so quiet of late, I've had a lot of distractions the last few weeks and a bit of ADD kicked in. I've been clearing my plate though and regaining focus.
I see you've been posting writings and I'm sorry I've not had a chance to read them wet (feel rather ashamed really) but I will soon.

Quite all right, I understand fully. Sometimes life just slams into you like a linebacker. I've just cleared out my own plate, now will be doing a statistics course until April, but along with that, I have only two daily focuses; writing, and getting away from the computer :).
Oh quite all right on not reading. I too, at times, need to force myself to read before I get too far behind. Remember; life first, friends second.
I will probably have two flash, or short stories out ASAP. I'm trying at least to write short fiction to keep writing, as the bigger stories develop in my mind.

So that's the first teiirka?
It looks great. I can't see anything to be improved.
I could imagine a captain's ship reflecting almost everything about him, them being together long enough. The captain's habits and quirks emulating the entire ship in its full complexity. His engines roar as though from his very own throat.
I don't know anything about the character to go off of, but...
The drawing tells me that he's strong, confident, and he has a taste for the finer things.
He's thinking about recent events or possible outcomes. Thoughts as deep as space.
That's why HE's the captain. Always considering every little detail, but still remembering that his intuition has been astoundingly reliable.
He glides upon the boldness of sometimes deciding to go with his gut.
Whatever it is that is going on, you nailed it. That picture tells a story.
Btw, Is ss the god ship one of those spin-offs?

Thanks! Yep, he's my namesake but I guess that he was written as someone I'd like to be. With the completed piece, I'll write something a little more specific about him and his race.
The god ship is based in a different universe although there may be similar technologies.
