I think I mentioned to you before the bit from Michael T. Gilbert's 'The Wraith', which had one story with a mad scientist with a device similar in concept... though instead of shifting people between reality levels, it shifted someone up and down their own personal reality chain. Turned the main character, an anthropomorphic dog, into a 'real' dog in the otherwise anthropomorphic world. And, when reversed on its creator, turned him into a child's drawing scrawled over the walls of the room.

Some interesting metafiction possibilities, yes. And I would be interested to see what more of this you have.

I love it more and more! It is remarkably similar to the many worlds view of quantum physics: everything that isn't absolutely prohibited by quantum mechanics actually happens - including a planet of furrys where there is a rather strange web site called Skin Affinity...
