Image I made for
NordicFuzzCon for 2015. The theme will be Scandinavian Folklore: The Enchanted Forest. I am so there C:. The image was featured on a flyer being distributed on this year's con, along with
doodlepad's work, which is such a contrast to mine X3. Everytime I look at it I think O M G LAY OFF THE COLOURS, DAMN IT, but it was supposed to be all green and fairytale-ish and I only forgot pollen floating in the air.
Creature I picked is Fossegrimen. It lives in waterfalls and plays the fiddle flawlessly, which I changed to harp, because it's one of my favourite instruments.
I think it's the most complicated image I did so far. And I did the colouring in around a week 83. Excluding composition and idea sketches, there was like three different ideas, with different species.
I'm so glad I could be a part of this project ^^
Original will be at the Artshow next year.

Absolutely adorable, beautifully rendered, and the colors are incredible.
I actually thought of another songsress; Lorenna Mckennitt, and her "The Bonny Swans"
Oh father, oh daddy, here swims a swan
With a hey ho and a bonny o
It's very like a gentle woman
The swans swim so bonny o
They placed her on the bank to dry
With a hey ho and a bonny o
There came a harper passing by
The swans swim so bonny o
He made harp pins of her fingers fair
With a hey ho and a bonny o
He made harp strings of her golden hair
The swans swim so bonny o
He made a harp of her breast bone
With a hey ho and a bonny o
And straight it began to play alone
The swans swim so bonny o
Ms Mckennitt's song was one of the first I heard from her, and was instantly hooked by her angelic voice.

Yeah, thats what I thought! You gonna be there?
This is one of the most insanely beautiful pieces I've seen in a while! Hmmm, She's doing some commissions for me right now, Wonder if I can talk her into doing a BG like this? :)
If it look this good on the monitor IRL it gotta be *loss for words*! Just received longing from her the other day and OMG, the detail and subtleties that don't show in the post is are amazing!

Nooh, don't fight! xD
Heh, we will see, there's a whole year ahead ^^
Yes, a week but of constant drawing, I couldn't feel my butt in the end.
Another background like this? Totally, so I can try doing it even differently x3, add more depth and make the branches look less random.
The magic of traditional pieces! *waves her paw and sprinkles rainbowy stars around*

I thought you would be. And NO! I wouldn't bid against YOU! You'll be there and I wish you to have it if at all possible. I already told Blu I'd not bid against you. And since she is already doing a complex commission for me, we talked and she will be upgrading it from awesome to Fossegrimen status! XD. <3
Green has so many shades... Red, Green and blue seem to be the most diverse colors.
I usually find with Trees, you get the best results by either stylizing the entire shape of the tree, or by stylizing the branches and leaves to look similar to each other. I'm working on backgrounds for a forest story, so I'm struggling with this on a big basis...

Stunning piece! You achieved such depth with the trees while balancing the composition with the stream running through the center. All those ethereal greens and blues makes me wish I was there, which is exactly what fairy tales did for me when I was a child. Also, thank you for sharing the beautiful music. Splendid.
