Hi ho, macropods!
Lots wrong with this but I'm still really proud of it!
First full digital pic with full digital colours! Hurrah! Have a nice roo 'tail swiinging atcha, no background as my hand hurts from spending all afternoon drawing this. Again, started out as a thumbnail that I really liked and I just went for it! =-)
All done in cheap-as-free OC 11b72.
Story:
Mary's studies on Myth & Folklore afforded her the opportunity to study some of the oldest and rarest books from around the world on a wide variety of subjects. Taking home a book on aboriginal art, Mary was surprised by an apparent movement on the page. As the design evaporated before her, it materialised again in the air, an incredible design with an impossible effect. Within the span of a minute she found herself neither wholly 'roo nor wholly human, but a pleasing mixture of the two.

Really nice TF pic & great coloring. (Aboriginal roo drawing floating above book is the perfect finishing touch.)
I agree w/ SOCOM3 re he's between two forms, so his legs in particular haven't taken on a full roo shape yet - but I think one of the 'things wrong' you're referring to is his left leg - there's an angle to his knee that's a bit funky for either human or roo.

Well do I know that it's wonky, believe me! I scrubbed out the whole hindquarters and tried redrawing that part several times! x-D
When I do a big pic I just shrug and say "Acceptable Losses" and have to finish it... Otherwise a 4 hour pic becomes a 6 hour pic with no visible improvement... You'll also note that his left hand is hidden. I did that on purpose, couldn't get the perspective right so I just gave up and moved on! *Hides*
And thank you muchly for the praise and critique in general; I did a quick google for aboriginal art, and just found a nice pic of a 'roo. To my infinite pleasure, I managed a good copy of the outline on the first go, so just kept it and made it part of the story!

Believe me I know that feeling. If I'm guilty of anything with my art, it's saying 'it's good enough' and putting it online as is. If it weren't for the slight matter of earning a living I could polish my pix until they shined so much it would hurt your eyes to look at them. (Of course, some people have that reaction looking at it the way they are )

"All I can see is a hideous RAINBOW!!!"
But seriously, I drew this in a breathless frenzy, having never fully inked and coloured a pic digitally before in my life, so by the time I realized she was nekkid, I was too tired to add clothes scraps... But thanks for noticing! =-P

Working digitally on a tablet is tricky if you're used to working with traditional media. I prefer to do my pencils and inks on paper and color in Photoshop if that is the what I want for coloring.
While I like to work in traditional art, the magic of the UNDO option on the computer suuuuure is tempting. :)

Well, that's the thing, I /thought/ it would be really tricky, but I'm really taking to it faster than I ever thought... And the reason I've gotten so confident is because I've completely eschewed the fiddling about with pencils which I was so hung up on! If you look at my real media pics in my gallery, there's less "life" in them I think, and each one took me as long as my digital pics... OR MAYBE I AM CRAZY! =P
