The first Shadow solo story
Saviour or Savor?
A few days ago, a great tragedy fell upon you. You weren't sure if you were just careless one night, or if someone set you up, but there you were, standing in the middle of your class presentation in the utmost frozen position. A bunch of eyes were glued to the projector screen as images of Sonic vore were mixed into your presentation. If the audience’s eyes weren't looking at the screen up front, they were looking right at you. All sorts of thoughts rushed through your head. They didn’t even have to say anything as all the judgmental insults flooded your mind. You believed they’d label you as a freak, weirdo, disgusting, or something even more vulgar. You didn’t want to stick around to find out.
Not thinking straight, you smash the lap top that was projecting those images against the wall of your classroom. You then burst out through the nearest door and run. You ran past the students, a few teachers, and a janitor in the hallway. Some shouted at you to slow down or to stop, and some wondered just what the hell you were doing. You didn’t care about what they thought; you just wanted to get out of there.
You busted out the front doors of the school and you just kept on going. Fatigue did not concern you and neither did straining your legs. You just wanted out. You wished there was a restart button or a save state you could just go to so the nightmare would be over. But this wasn't a video game. There are no do over’s. What happened happened and it could no longer be changed. The whole situation felt like being in the fabled underwear dream, where the class would laugh at you for not wearing your clothes. Even that nightmare at this point sounded like a paradise compared to what you accidentally showed in your presentation. Was this really the end of your social life? Could you even sit next to anyone during your lunch or breaking periods? You didn’t want to face anyone or confront anyone about your “likes”. You couldn’t entirely understand them so how would you even be able to explain them. You decided to run off and be alone. You didn’t plan on running away forever like those kids in those movies, but just until things cooled down, or at least until you could figure out how to explain yourself.
2 days had now passed and you had gotten by from the money you had on you. Your parents were informed of what happened and they, as well as a bunch of other people, went looking for you. You’d never been this extreme before in any circumstance. You were acting completely on instinct rather than your regular logic. Perhaps it was because you were losing your mind. Maybe all the years of paranoia and having your secret being discovered are finally surfacing in one big mood whiplash. Were you overreacting? Perhaps you were, but your deep thought trail was broken when you heard a familiar voice that called out your name. You were pretty sure it was your next door neighbours voice. As you tried to back a way into the alley you were in, you bumped into a brick wall. The connection to the brick wall sent a jolt into your brain that made you squeak out a small noise. As you feared, they called out to you, thinking that was your voice. Escape seemed impossible. As the individual closed in on you, you were suddenly grabbed and pulled away faster than you could blink.
“Hello...are you there?” the voice called out hoping to find you, but then your neighbour only saw the brick wall that once blocked you. Confused as to why nothing was around, the one next door made his way back to the streets.
“Hey who the hell are you” you said muffled as your mouth was covered by a gloved hand.
“I think you’ll know who I am if you turn around, but you better keep quiet.” The oddly recognizable voice said.
You didn’t like being told what to do from someone you didn’t know, but you complied. You nodded and then you were slowly go. You looked behind you to see Shadow The Hedgehog.
“OH..” Was all you get out of your mouth before he covered it with his gloved hand again. You looked up to see his annoyed face. Was this now becoming a dream come true, or were you really off the deep end and bat shit insane.
He gave you a stern look, one of disappointment. “I said to keep quiet, understand.” Shadow said with a stern voice.
You nodded and mumbled a quick response to let him know you understood what he said. He then removed his hand from your mouth again. He watched you closely to make sure you didn’t do something stupid. You kinda felt a little awkward as the next few moments were in complete silence, or at least as noisy as an afternoon in a city way alley was. You then quietly spoke this time.
“Y...You’re Shadow” you said, barely managing to put those words together.
“Of course I am.” He responded.
“B...But...you’re not real, you’re just a video game character.” You pointed out.
“Well I must be more than a bunch of computer programs because I’m here.” Shadow said as he placed a hand on your shoulder. You wondered if he was comforting you, or preparing to shut you up in case you screamed or got too loud.
“So...why’d you help me?” You asked. “You’re usually not the kind of person...I mean hedgehog to do something like that?”
“I have my reasons human; maybe you’ll figure them all out at some point.” Shadow responded coldly.
You weren't surprised he was kinda cruel, since he normally didn’t like being around people due to his personality. You had the cocky thought that maybe you reminded him of Maria somehow. You weren't sure if that was true, but you felt asking Shadow that could get you face full of his fist. You shivered at the thought of being beat up by him. Sure he was just over 3ft tall and shorter than you, but your game experiences have shown that these little critters wreak metal robots for a living, so human bones would probably be like snapping a tooth pick to Shadow. On the other hand, fans over the world would be envious if you could be close to Shadow, though having him save you already gave you eternal bragging rights. The idea of rubbing that idea in soon had your brain snap you back into reality. You sighed regretfully as people would either make fun of you or think you were insane for believing that any of that is true. You look to your left to see Shadow jump to the other rooftop nearby.
“W...Wait for me, d...don’t leave me here” You said a little scared as you ran to the edge of the roof. You then stopped suddenly as the fall down was pretty steep.
“You coming or what?” Shadow said as he paused his movements.
“C...couldn’t you be a bit patient or wait?” You asked.
“I don’t have all day, hurry up.” Shadow said annoyed.
“I don’t exactly have super strong legs like you do Shads” You told Shadow.
Shadow sighed and jumped back over. He then grabbed you and started hopping rooftops. You looked up to see how focused he seemed to be. It was driving you nuts to understand why he’s even spending time with you. Were you just that lucky, or were you chosen for a reason. You didn’t bother asking as he already said he wouldn't tell.
“Is this a dream or something?” You ask, still somewhat doubting of the situation.
“You tell me” Shadow says as he pinches you hard.
“OOW, what the hell.” You said ticked off a bit
Shadow laughed a bit and then responded. “I dunno, picking on the inferior is kinda fun...and you also called me Shads. I’d watch what you say around me” Shadow said as he kept effortlessly hopping roof tops.
“That’s what we call being a bully” You responded while pouting.
“I see humans all the time bully littler and weaker things, so why shouldn't it be normal for someone as superior as I am” Shadow said as he stopped his movements for a moment.
“So, would Maria approve of you doing this?” You blurted out angrily.
Shadow grin turned into a frown. Without speaking he walked to the edge of the building he was on and hung you off it with one foot.
“DON’T YOU EVER MENTION THAT NAME AGAIN!” Shadow yelled as he loosened his grip. He had purposely already taken you to an abandoned area, away from other human ears to hear you.
“AAH, I’M SORRY...PLEASE DON’T DROP ME.” You screamed.
Shadow paused for a moment before lifting you up. “Why should I not drop you, you dare try to lecture me on what she would want.”
“Why are you picking on me, do you really like seeing me unhappy?” You complained. “I was already alone and unhappy after what happened to me, what more do you want?”
“I’m sorry Maria.” Shadow said as he lifted you up and placed you down gently.
“I...remind you of her.” You asked.
“No, no one can do that...but what you said is right.” Shadow said as he sat down on the edge of the roof.
“Why do you really pick on me” You asked, hoping to get a real answer.
“Because there is no challenge anymore, your world is a bore.” Shadow said frustrated.
“Life is a bore when there are no challenges.” You said as you sat next to him. “Kinda like playing god mode on a video game, it quickly gets boring when nothing can oppose you.”
Shadow nodded. “It’s not really much of a hobby, but it’s all I got since nothing here can threaten me.”
“So, there were other people besides me.” You asked
“Yes...I found them when alone and I...” Shadow stopped.
“You what?” You asked.
“Well, I did say there was another reason I picked you out” Shadow said with a smirk
“And that reason is?” You asked.
“I think you know” Shadow said grinning and then disappearing in a flash. Your eyes widened as you felt a ticklish feeling on your neck and heard a slurping sound. Your ears then pick up somewhat of a murr before you were smacked in the back of your head. You heard a chuckle from Shadow as you fell to the ground. Your vision blurred and faded to black as you slipped into unconsciousness.
Your eyes begin to slowly open. You see a little glimmer of sunlight slowly be closed off as it sounded like a large door was being closed. You rub your eyes quickly and see Shadow using his strength to seal off a warehouse door. It was impressive for someone of his size to accomplish that. You look around to notice you’re on a kitchen table and that you were covered in what smelled like a mix of alcohol, barbecue sauce, and salt. Your eyes widened as you immediately realized his goal. As you tried to get up, you were held back by a pair of hand cuffs on your arms. Seems Shadow had this planned all along, were you just his dinner? Did he pick you out because he knew of the incident at school? None of that mattered as he slowly walked up to you, licking his lips and drooling a bit in anticipation.
“Have a nice sleep my morsel.” Shadow asked as he sat by your feet.
“Wha..what is this...I thought we were friends.” You responded frightened.
“Well we’re more like acquaintances right now, but I like my friends to be nice, gullible, and tasty.” Shadow said as he grabbed onto your legs. You thought of kicking him, but he might just break your legs if you tried, so you decided to hear him out.
“I've been journeying around this world for a while, looking for a challenge like I said before, but also to find some delectable morsels.” Shadow said in a calm, sadistic kind of voice.
“You’re acting way out of character Shadow. The Shadow I know doesn’t eat people.” You argued.
“True, but in my world I had food that could supply my chaos energy. In this world, none of that material exists, so let’s just say like an animal, I adapted.” Shadow responded with a grin.
“But wha..!” was all you could get out as Shadow covered your mouth.
“I've had enough chit chat, I want you inside me.” Shadow said before he quickly went to the edge of the kitchen stuffed your feet into his mouth.
“STOP...YOU’LL END UP....wait...that last comment sounded kinda OW!”
Shadow bit down on your feet, unamused at your sense of humour. You were grateful that he didn’t bite too hard. Things debatably got worse as he started licking, savouring, and covering your feet with saliva. You laughed, struggled, and kicked a bit, but you were unable to move. Tears filled your eyes as the ticklish feeling wasn't going away.
“Oh for god’s sake just swallow damn it.” You yelled at Shadow.
Shadow obliged as with a large gulp, he sent your feet into his throat. The moist feeling and the pulsating throat that constricted onto you felt weird. You were just now experiencing what it’s like to be the prey in those pictures and stories on the internet. Though now wasn't the time to admire your predator. You wanted to plead for your safety, hoping that maybe if you’d be eaten, he’d at least keep you safe. Shadow though gave you the evil eye as he was beginning to slurp down your legs. The look seemed to tell you to keep quiet, or else he’d hurt you. You gulped nervously, trusting your life to a ravenous hedgehog may not be the best idea, but you knew you were going to end up in his belly whether you liked it or not, which unsurprisingly, you kinda did want to.
Shadow’s tongue was pretty rough, so while he wasn't licking your feet, he still managed to tickle your legs. He seemed to like to lightly chew into you, you didn’t know why, but at least he wasn't using those teeth to chew through you or make you bleed. It reminded you of how little rabbits sometimes like to nibble their owners. Comparing Shadow to rabbit made you laugh out loud much to Shadow’s confusion, but he shrugged it off. Shadow then swallowed up to your torso and began to untie your hand cuffs. Your feet were suspended into an open chamber which you believed was his stomach. You shuffled your feet around and lightly kicked his stomach walls. It was pretty amazing how much of a temperature difference there was from outside him compared to inside. Your feet were already sweating a bit. Shadow laughed a little at how nonchalant you were treating your situation compared to a few moments ago.
Shadow made sure to give your stomach a nice coating of saliva before happily gulping you down. You could now feel your legs curl up inside and your rear beginning to fall in. Half of your body felt like it had the same damp and sticky feeling of having orange juice poured onto you. Shadow caressed his bloated stomach slowly it was bloating out, and then he gently lifted his head into the air. Your decent started to become more rapid as your chest and shoulders quickly descended and fit into his mouth and cheeks. You looked down to watch your own decent and see his greedy maw come closer and closer to your face. You could smell his warm breath as you were mere moments to having your head sink in.
Right before your head was about to sink into his mouth, he gave a playful lick to your nose, getting some of the BBQ sauce of it. He then tilted his head straight up and allowed your head which then slipped into the back of his mouth. You could see the roof of his maw and the sharp teeth he held back from harming you too much. It did smell kind of disgusting in there as he had alcohol before, but you just dealt with it. Shadow then closed his mouth on your head and slowly swallowed. Your face got introduced to his throat as you were pressed right against it. You even accidentally swallowed some of his saliva and nearly puked. Lastly you heard a loud slurp as your arms were slowly sucked into his mouth followed by one last hard “GULP!”
Without any warning your speed suddenly increased and you were dropped completely into his dark, damp, warm, humid, stomach. The sudden speed surprised you as your decent before was pretty slow. Your momentum shifted as you accidentally landed on your back instead of rear, and then you bounced to the sealing. You then bounced off the sealing and hit the floor of his stomach. But before you could bounce again, Shadow firmly grabbed his belly and kept you in place.
“T..thanks Shadow.” You said with a surprisingly calm voice.
You waited for a response, but you didn’t seem to get one. What you did hear was Shadow’s stomach quiver and vibrate with you inside. Your ears began to pop as pressure built up. You grabbed them in pain. The quivering then got wilder until Shadow was finally able to calm it down with a massive saliva spewing belch.
“BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRP!”
After that fog horn like belch, things in Shadow’s stomach began to settle down. Your popping ear pain vanished. Too bad nothing could be done about the heat though. Sitting in a scorching sauna like prison was not exactly that fun, but it was at least comfortable.
“Aaah...Thank you very much morsel...you were very satisfying.” Shadow said as he wiped his face.
“Um...no problem” you responded, just now remembering the possible life threatening predicament. “You’re not gonna digest me right?”
“Hmmm...If I did, then I’d get some energy.” Shadow said. “But on the other hand I can’t eat you again if I digest you.”
“P...please don’t kill me.” You said worriedly.
Shadow thought for a moment and then spoke. “Tell ya what kid, if you do what I say, and meet up with me when I ask, then I won’t turn you into nutrient soup.”
“DEAL!” You said enthusiastically. You then realized how responding like that sounded awkward and blushed.
“That’s a good morsel, but you can’t stay with me 24/7, you need to get home.” Shadow said while changing his tone of voice to a slightly concerned one.
“But...everyone will think I’m weird, freaky, and insult me.” You said saddened.
“I don’t know why they’d say that about my food.” He then paused and showed a toothy grin. “Well then they might just end up disappearing then if they pick on my food” Shadow said as he chuckled.
“Erm...please don’t kill anyone.” You responded nervously. You didn’t want to be an accomplice of murder.
“Fine morsel...whatever.” Shadow said as he caressed his stomach.
“Also...I have a name you know.” You said. You then told him your name.
“Ok then...I’ll still call you morsel.” Shadow said while chuckling.
You sighed annoyed, even though he acted somewhat concerned; he’s still kind of a prick. But at least you could safely stay inside him, and that seems like a plus. You didn’t exactly have a true friendship as it was more a friends with benefits kind of thing, but maybe one day he would be your true friend, if you could get him to truly give a damn about you. Shadow didn’t even know that beforehand you liked him as a predator on the internet. He’d probably be surprised about that fact.

“I think you know” Shadow said grinning and then disappearing in a flash. Your eyes widened as you felt a ticklish feeling on your neck and heard a slurping sound. Your eyes begin to slowly open. You see a little glimmer of sunlight slowly be closed off as it sounded like a large door was being closed. You rub your eyes quickly and see Shadow using his strength to seal off a warehouse door. It was impressive for someone of his size to accomplish that.
