He wasn’t designed for rudimentary rough housing or possessed any physical skill aside from constriction; and even that was only useful when the prey wasn’t fighting back too much. He had scales for defense but only on his lower half, and though his claws were stout they were, sad to say, not overly tough. Drawing blood in it of itself was a messy business and tended to attract uninvited guests to his parties, and it also just plain ruined his mood.

Which is why Samal preferred THIS way much better. It got the job done and kept Jesse nice and docile.
