Emo Drama ROOMIES
Not everyone is aware that I draw a regularly updated web comic called ROOMIES (yeah, how original of a name, I know). It's been going on for nealry 10 years and has 1200 strips to date. It updates M/W/F.

I drew up three comics to address all the emo drama that we see online these days. I don't really go in for it myself, but for the comic I'll gladly embarass myself as the target to get the point across. Here's the three strips that cover the issue quite well.
Enjoy!

Yeah, I'm still drawing ROOMIES. It's been going reliably three days a week for years. There are three bound book collections available from Jarlidium Press (www.jarlidium.com).
XD awesome ^^
I don't get why everyone is leaving.. hell my art uber sucks yeah I get a few comments but yeah and my life is such a mess it makes my room look sparkling clean by comparison (with only a path to my comp bed and drawing desk it's pretty messy)
true the worst I did was delete all my library twice but there were alternate reasons for that as well as angsty ones (mainly so all my new stuff is on here and the old is on another site.) I still dun get their deal but meh I'm not losing any sleep cause I luvs FA I luvs ze fandom and....
I loves you for this pic! *hugs*

Oh, Frith on the Hills! If I had a nickel for every time someone pulled the "I'm leaving the fandom forever goodbye" bit. :)
It always puts me in mind of this classic lyric performed by Groucho Marx in the movie Animal Crackers:
"Hello, I must be going.
I cannot stay, I came to say I must be going.
I'm glad I came but just the same I must be going."
"(Miss Teasdale): For my sake you must stay, for if you go away,
you'll spoil this party I am throwing."
"I'll stay a week or two, I'll stay the summer through,
but I am telling you, I must be going."
Funny strip, Flinthoof. But if you don't mind a little constructive criticism: Instead of a blank panel on the third line, how about a long shot of the character sitting at his keyboard, perhaps a hand on his chin, perhaps in silouette -- no dialog. The blank space conveys the idea of time, but it's a little aesthetically jarring.

As long as we are on a tangent about Groucho - while sticking to the original subject matter - here's part of the lyrics to a song that was actually dropped from the MGM comedy "A Day at the Races"...
Chorus: "We welcome Doctor Hackenbush, the famous medico..."
Soloist: "God bless you, Doctor Hackenbush..."
Groucho: "If that's the case, I'll go!..."
Chorus: "Oh, no, you mustn't go..."
Groucho: "Who said I mustn't go?! The only reason that I came is so that I can go..."
I have an actual recording of that dropped song, performed by the one and only Groucho on a radio show of the 1940s.

Here are some more lyrics to that dropped song...
Groucho: "When your nerves start to rock, have some faith in your doc. He is there for your life to defend... With the possible exception of your m-o-o-o-other, a doctor's a man's best friend..."
Chorus: "Yes, a doctor's a man's best friend..."
Groucho: "Right or wrong, wrong or right, night or day, day or night... He will stay by your side till the end... With the possible exception of your mother and your father, and your sister and your brother, and your nephews and your nieces, and your uncles and your cousins - who number by the dozens... A DOCTOR'S A MAN'S BEST FRIEND!!!"
Ah, they don't write songs like THAT anymore... And for good reason!

I've heard that song.. it's on one of this set of 5 dvds called "The Marx Brothers Collection" got a whole lot of old stuff like that on there... unfortunately they also seem to have had an error in programming and they get stuck on the title screen unless you push play the moment it pops up.
The collection I have (with that song) is presumably titled "3 hours, 59 minutes, and 45 seconds with The Marx Borthers"... a set of four 33 and 1/3 vinyl records! So, it's very unlikely that I'll get any errors in programming... unless the needle gets stuck in the same spot on that LP album!
And here's another Marx fan!
"If any form of pleasure is exibited
Report to me and it will be prohibited
I'll put my foot down, so shall it be
This is the land of the free"

Good to know, Flinters! :D Maybe we should have known and maybe you have it in your profile, etc, but thanks that you posted it here, some of us knew about it and now we're going to read it too ^^
It'd be good that FA had a 'comic strip' feature so you comic artists could post strips in an organized way here too, so we wouldn't need to deal with 2 thousand bookmarks and different sites to see all the art we love.
Ah well, in short, thanks for the info! ^^

flinters, I kinda lost track of the comic, but the archive only goes up to 2004...can we get the archive kept up to date? I'd really like to read up on it...
heck, I'll even comment, and add feedback for ya.
but I"m not gonna use the back button through like... four years of comics to get back to where I started, ya know?

Nice, I have to say, I knew your art first as a comic strip.. just found you here today.. linking over from Rabbi Toms.
The comments on the bottom of the Comic frontpage been updated in years.. it seems. I guess I should check out the forums more, they might say something about it. Might be cool to have a small comment list on there, kinda like Tiff Ross does.

Hehe, I love this almost as much as I love how some people say that im betraying the spirit of the furry fandom by critiscizing art thieves and making fun of people who blow drama all out of proportion. Cause apparently critiscizing another furry for anything is unfurry like or some shit like that I guess. :p
