that's at least better then the Red Bee http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Richard_Ra.....28New_Earth%29 whose 'super power' was he had a single trained bee to attack his enemies. Yup, that's right, just one single bee, not a whole swarm. And no, it's not a giant super bee or anything special, it's just a regular bumble bee.
I imagine that a horde of Gerbils would be about as effect as a horde of any rodent, which could be useful just on the fact of being overwhelmed, even if by small creatures. I mean, Tribbles or Parasprites technically aren't a big deal, until having to deal with them en-mass either,
