This is what Star does as one of her past times and helps her stay in shape, Judo, she also does kickboxing. Stars being doing Judo since she was about 7 years old, Shes been teaching Yuri for 4 years.
OOh and I love the tongue piercing panel. She looks so damn happy with herself. I almost wanted to make her saying WAAAAASSSSSUUUUPPPP!!! LOL but that wouldnt have fit in with the conversation

Lol I remember when my karate teacher put me to fight against a red belt. Me being a yellow I lost the first round then used my anger to defeat the opponent in round 2 and 3 ^^ yup yup anger can sometimes make you unstoppable. Nice artwork! Keep doing a great job Star! *hugs*

What I noticed before is that the military in Star's world is quite oblivious towards small things that would get you in trouble in the real world. Stars hair cut & color for example. Or a high ranking officier from the meeting with a couple of piercings in each ear.

From personal experience the only times it *really* works well is against someone untrained who's trying to charge at you, and has less time to step back/evade/crouch

Well, as a martial artist, I can tell you that you did an excellent job. :3 Anytime an artist draws martial artists fighting, the first place I look is the FEET, eheh.
I think this is why I like your comics so much! You have a rather keen eye to subtle details that make things feel just that much more organic and lifelike; relatable, really! Details like facial expressions, where the character is looking, body language, and even some rather nice camera angles and dialogue. It's lovely work. :3
