Glitter Ball pinup with a Faerie twist commissioned by
of her Chinese Crested character Mei Mei, who's costume is based off of emeralds.
I've decided to do away with the scrapbook paper backgrounds (reasons stated on my facebook page), but I'm considering the idea of doing plain black backgrounds for these instead. Eliminating the cutting and pasting would be ideal though. >.>
I will be taking one more *small* round of pinups later this month. Until then, you can catch WIP's, stream notifications and other behind-the-scenes art stuff over at www.facebook.com/artofluthiennightwolf

Lovely as always, hun! From here those wings look so realistic, like you really took them off a butterfly.
I also really appreciate the texture/folds you put into the dress, and the knotwork details there. I also like how a few of the accessories have a leaf-like appearance, to go with the faerie theme.
I think on something like this (and the angel that had the black wings) a black background might not work so well. So probably better to save your time and not cut the pinups out if you don't have to.

Yeah I think it's all about finding the balance at this point. Someone else had mentioned there might be too much white space without the scrappie background, even though you aren't really getting any less art if I don't include it. So I think I'll just have to make sure to make the shape behind the character large enough that it fills more of the space in back, while being careful I don't create an overload of work for myself or ruin the composition. I want to keep these character-focused for sure. :)
