Had this thought the other day... I clearly remember Trix cotton candy yogurt being the most amazing thing ever... And actually tasting like cotton candy...

...But now it tastes like vanilla, and all the little kids argue with me! Therein lies the proof that our tastebuds change over time... And we apparently decide everything tastes the same as something generic.

Oddly there are grapes out there that are called cotton candy grapes and they do faintly taste like cotton candy but do have that vanilla vibe.

Alas, it seems that, in the end, only cotton candy will taste truly like cotton candy... And I don't know who the hell it was that decided the typical orange/grape/watermelon candies actually taste anything remotely close to their given fruits.
I have also learned that those detestable "circus peanuts" candies are actually banana-flavoured... The revalation somehow made them slightly less unpleasant.

holy crap I remember those. I faintly remember them tasting like cotton candy but because I haven't had them in ages I wouldn't know what they taste like now. Looks like I'm hunting for something this weekend.

As a smoker (yes.. filthy habit I know) I am now unable to taste salt.. you want bland. Here.. Have a kilo of salt for those fries and still be unable to taste anything but the starch in the potato..

Depends on what kind it is though; I know of some that tastes like paint thinner mixed with road tar.
