This is one of my favorite egyption goddesses for obvious reasons, but then also because of her holiday everyone gets to party hard down the Nile for a full day. And strangly enough, some time after many of the women who were on the boats end up pregnent...

That is very good, however I think the outline colours for the gold jewelry and her nose aren't quite the right colours. I think a darker shade would look better, like what you did with her fur outline. I also like the secondary highlight, although I think it could have been a little thicker in places to give her a bit more volume.

All in all, it is an excellent image - great line work, a nice background matching the theme and good colouring, lighting and shading.

the gold in particular was made lighter to make it appear more bright and shiny, but I certainly see what you're saying. The second highlight is also a new thing for me so I'm still figuring out how best to use it. Definately something to work on for future pictures. Thank you for the critique! ^_^

My personal favorite! Though I think that particular decoration around her eye might have been considered heresy in some circles...

Its the All Seeing Eye. Generally used as a ward. There is a similar one on all American money.

Nah, the All Seeing Eye is the one in the triangle- the one ONE the dollar bill. That's the Udjat (or Wedjat), the eye of Horus or Ra. To Egyptians more closely affiliated with Ra and Horus, putting it on Bastet might have been considered heresy, back in their time. At least, that's how I understand it.

Bast was the holder of the All Seeing Eye. It was attributed to a cats ability to see in the dark. Now wether or not that particular marking is the correct one I don't know but it is the All Seeing Eye. Does go under another name though too. Can't recall at the moment.

Bast is one of my two favourite Egyptian Gods/Godesses. Bast is one hell of a multitasker, but she is primarily a fertility godess, and actually bi. She had three husbands and was considered a lover to every god and godess. She is also a complete bad ass too like her brother Anubis (my other favourite Egyptian God).

I noticed she has a teeny little bit of muscle in her! Then again, maybe it's because she's a war goddess.

I love the glossiness, the shiny light effect on the metal parts, the anatomy is great, the coloring is great. I like the musculature and the abs especially. Great clothing and character design. I like the pose and the composition.
