I wish I could say that this is the last chapter, but it isn't. However, I don't feel the need to post any more after this. It's not that I'm losing any creative touches with these pictures. Fact is, this picture is supposed to look like a void. The reason is that I just wanted to tell the origins for Raider, Steel, and Dimitree. Then the whole thing kind of got a bit out of hand after this point.
Sure, I may post the rest of it later on. I may not. However, I'm about to start off on another course in college, and I don't feel as if I can do both for a while. As far as any stories involving these characters, this set up is good enough for me. I may post more chapters in the future, but they may or may not have pictures accompanying them.
In case you didn't know this is the forth chapter of the story Raider's Steel continuing from where this ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13955985/ ) left off.
So now please enjoy the last chapter of Raider's Steel.
Ch. 4 Duality
A blank white void…
There was no doubt that this was a dream as Tony looked around. There was nothing as far as his mind’s eye could see. He remembered this place. It was the prison that he was in before. But something felt drastically different about this dream. He was able to move. He had a body this time, his human one… well for the most part…
He had this blue tint to his skin and the collar of his shirt was really bothering him. He couldn’t see it, but his eyes were a deep red. He was more than happy to see that he had his hands, but he could still sense the tail’s weight behind him. He turned to look at it, only to find himself looking at a pair of deep blue eyes.
“What in the,” Tony leaped back, the owner of the eyes did the same. Looking ahead now, Tony could see a duplicate of himself. The other Tony raised his right arm ready for a fight with himself if need be. Tony could see that it was bluer than his own arm, but was flimsier. This strange feature wasn’t limited to just his arm, no. That Tony looked as if he could be blown over by a gentle breeze. Still, he stood tall before himself sporting a strange curved shoulder armor as well. Although his eyes looked more like they belonged to that cursed blade, “who are you?”
“I could ask the same of you,” that Tony squinted his eyes, “if I didn’t recognize myself after all this time.”
“What is that supposed to mean,” Tony took a step back preparing for the moment for his opposite to leap out at him.
“You really don’t remember, Myrin said that there’d be some memory loss,” the doppelgänger lowered his guard a bit, equally stepping back, but not loosing eye contact, “You’re the me in the Riolu, aren’t you?”
“I am not a Riolu and I’m certainly not you,” Tony snapped.
“Well, I’m not a Honedge, but my name is still Tony,” the fiend took a look down his arm, “although it’s been a while since we were separated, so there were bound to be differences.”
“What’s a Honedge,” Tony growled, “all I see is that bastard Torune trying to make himself look like me.”
“That was what Torune was. A Honedge, but we killed him…” the copy nodded before shaking it again, “ or rather I killed him. It was my pieces that actually did the act, but by doing so, we… you were dying. Do you remember that?”
“No, I…,” Tony stopped, he remembered that had happened, but the more he tried to think about it the more his head hurt, “I died. I should be dead now.”
“No, Myrin saved you, Tony,” the copy closed his eyes, “ I remember him telling me that causing Torune’s death had split me apart. He put my dying memories, everything that was left in… your body into Junifer’s egg.”
Tony missed a step when he heard that name. Junifer was Tony’s Lucario. She had the very egg that Tony had brought into the castle. You would think that just knowing Junifer’s name would be enough to convince Tony that this thing was telling the truth. However, Torune could have easily seen Junifer in Tony’s memories during the transfer. And yet, what that copy was saying could explain why he was a Riolu now…
“Then who… or What… are you?”
“I’m the part of our soul that were already inside the Honedge… the sword’s body,” the copy gulped, “this part survived by connecting to Torune’s old body. This me was born from that.”
“You’re what was drawing me.”
“I was hoping that we would meet much sooner than this.”
“What do you mean,” Tony watched as the other him slowly sat down, it wasn’t until now that he realized, that despite the similarities between their human parts, his were much older, “how long has it been?”
“I honestly don’t know,” that Tony raised his head as he looked to the blank sky, “but I spent about eighteen years with Damian waiting for you to hatch.”
“Eighteen years…,” Tony finally let down his guard and slid to his knees, he would of asked more, but his other part continued.
“But it’s been centuries after we were separated from him,” the copy turned his head from the original, “you… me… me and you… we are all we have left.”
The pair stayed silent for a long time. They didn’t have anything that they could say. Not that they needed to. The Honedge part of Tony knew it was a lot to take in. He still remembered the shock he had when he first awoke as a Honedge. Still, Damian was his friend and comrade for years afterwords. Damian’s life was significantly harder because he kept trying to convince people that ‘Tony’ was still alive in the sword and the dormant egg. During that time, Honedge Tony had dedicated his life to protecting his new master and the egg containing his other half.
He couldn’t remember why Damian and him had to separate, but he knew he had to protect the egg until his returned. That day never came as a strange aura seemed to engulf the entire forest. And the little bit of energy that he had was fading, as such he had to Hibernate until his master’s return. That day never came. Then that young Zorua dug up the two of them. The rest was history as far as the Honedge Tony was concerned.
“So what now,” the Riolu Tony finally spoke up.
“I don’t know,” the Honedge Tony shrugged to himself, “I guess we could just get on with our lives.”
“You mean we’re not going to just,” the Half-Riolu motioned with his hands, “Plurp…merge back into one.”
“Even if that was possible, it’s far too late now,” the Half-Honedge explained, “We have far too many memories between us. Putting the parts together at this point will only make who ever we become a raving lunatic. We’d be treated worse than Damian was.”
“Damian…,” Tony sighed to himself, “how was he without… what happened to him?”
“He grew up to be a great master,” the sword Tony smiled, pausing once the word crossed his lips, “I’m sorry, great Trainer. After I saved him, he realized the importance of Pokémon research. He went back to renew his Pokémon License and used our Pokémon to assist in finding as many types of Pokémon as we could.”
“That’s good,” Tony looked up at his counterpart, “how did Junifer react?”
“Do you even have to ask,” the opposite smiled nervously, “she really took it hard when she heard what happened to us, and she really hated what her egg was used for, well you, but she had a few more later on. She gave me my nickname.”
“Nickname? What did she come up with?”
“Steel,” he smiled, “it’s paraphrased, but it’s nicer than what she first called me.”
“Oh I get it,” Tony laughed, “please don’t explain what she really called you.”
“Actually,” Steel rose to his feet with Tony, “she did make me promise her one thing.”
“What’s that?”
“That starting from the moment you were born, the only thing that I would ever call you was Master.”
Tony raised an eyebrow at himself.
“Honestly, I think that it would be a good idea for me,” Steel looked tired, “without a sheath to rest in, I can’t survive… and I’ve kind of grown a liking to serving a master.”
“But you’re… I can’t… how does that even work?”
“It’s simple I’d stay by your side,” Steel motioned to his hip, but quickly changed his mind about that particular option, “or, considering your size, on your back…You’ll take me out when you’re in trouble and I will protect you from those who wish you harm.”
“So you’ll be like my Pokémon from back before… all this?”
“Yes. Like that exactly. Well, except for one thing,” Steel hesitated to say it, “I’d have to feed off of your energy.”
“Feed Off My WHAT!?!”
“You don’t understand,” Steel panicked, falling to cover his head, “I can’t eat any other way. My body’s nothing, but lifeless steel without someone to feed on.”
Tony stopped what he was going to shout about. He was not considering letting a… this parasite feed off of him at all. Still, he might as well hear his side.
“Without a sheath, my wounds wont heal. Even if I didn’t need a sheath. My energy would drain away until I start to hibernate. And if that happens,” Steel choked a bit as he held back tears, “I might never wake up. I don’t want to be trapped in those nightmares ever again.”
“Okay, okay, don’t be so overly dramatic,” Tony rolled his eyes, not believing that this would be what he’d become after eighteen years as a ghost sword, “*sigh*…exactly how much energy would you need?”
Steel looked up into the red eyes. Tony had turned away, it was clear that he was still hesitant, but at least willing to listen to Steel’s case, “With Damian, it was only enough that he had to eat an extra meal every day. But it’s different with Pokémon. Plus you’re a newborn, so I don’t know how much it would effect you.”
“Take a wild guess,” Tony snapped a look back at Steel.
“Maybe…,” Steel took his time to calculate it in his head, “if I’m careful, you’d sleep about as much as an Abra and eat about half as much as a Munchlax.”
“That doesn’t seem so bad,” Tony smiled, “how much does a Munchlax eat anyway?”
“About two hundred pounds.”
“Gah, I’m going to be so fat,” Tony made a face to make Steel smile,”Seriously, like the fattest laziest Riolu ever!”
“I’ll make certain that wouldn’t happen,” Steel smiled, wiping the tears from his eyes with his cloth hand.
“Still… I wouldn’t feel right about it,” Tony lowered himself to help Steel up, “you know that, right Steel?”
“Of course you wouldn’t,” Steel turned away, “It’s how we got in this mess to begin with…”
“Yeah, I guess that’s true too. But I’d feel even worse if I just let you die,” Tony pointed out, Steel was shocked at how well Master was taking it, “So I don’t have much of a choice, now do I?”
“So you’ll be my Master?”
“No. I wont be your Master, but we can still be partners, Okay? Work together. All for one and all that.”
“Yes Master,” Steel paused when he realized his mistake, “oh sorry… force of habit.”
“Don’t worry,” Tony thought about it, “I don’t think I officially have a name anymore anyway, so you can call me whatever you like.”
“In that case,” Steel stuck out his right arm for Tony to shake, “I hope you wont mind me calling you Master… Master.”
Tony hesitated at first, remembering the last time he held a Honedge’s hand. Still, he quickly overcame his fears and took it with his own right, “not at all Steel.”
And with that the world faded to white…
