I can make out that his face has fattened up, but I think the line that makes his cheek look fat should have been a bit more pronounced, as his messy face makes it hard for me to see just how fat his face is.
Also, I noticed he has not developed moobs. Is that a personal choice?
The tight grip of his belly in the third panel is very good. It really brings out just how fat he has become, and add some visual depth to how soft/hard his belly is.
The blackout at the end is a very nice touch. I do love cliffhangers.
